Newbie question of the year! RE: euro power cable

I received my box a couple of days ago and installing after i return from the footie. I have a simple question.

The unit comes with a "figure of eight" power lead with a 2 pin socket. I have a similar power cable with a uk 3-pin socket in a drawer somewhere. Can I use this cable or will this blow it up or something?

Also as a side question I have an external LG usb bluray/hd-dvd drive, what are the chances of plugging this into the box and playing blurays of it through my Vu+?

you can use your uk 3-pin socket with no problems at all.

as for the blurays thinggy, it has been reported that people played dvd and even recorded to their external dvd's. the only thing i will be wondering if the vu can handle the decoding process and u must be using hdmi/dvi as BR only plays through protected connections.
