I know this is not an answer, but why would you ant to have this? Just because it's possible? We are not going to watch boot-movies, are we? I really think the very best bootlog0 is a black screen :)

looks perfect. after that, though I wish I could

What box are you after eplayer for ?
it's easy enough to compile as it's in the oe-alliance files.
To be honest I agree with Rob van der Does I want my box to boot as quick as possible not play mkv's I can play at any time.

Looks very cool if you like to show of your coding skills
Pointless, but I like it :D
Alot better than watching a spinning vix logo.
Something different and nice addition :D
i would like maybe a moving bar like windows loading ect, could add something to the already good firmware
see no one took the project up?
see no one took the project up?
To be honest its just a gimmick if you ask me and certainly not something we would include in ViX by default so unlikely to be worked on by us.

hello,
I think it's a great idea to watch a short HD video like a boot logo like XBOX360 for ex, and xbox360 and PS3 don't show movies in their boot logos.
so is there any posibility to test a MKV bootlogo under VIX, and then tring to make more simple bootlogos??
it's ok
this is the plugin (http://feeds.hdfreaks.cc/V2.1/gbquad/3rdparty/enigma2-plugin-extensions-bootvideo-hdf_1.1_all.ipk) to put .MP4 HD video on boot screen.
but warning, this may disable sound after boot.
i dont why some one posted about the spinning vix logo? this is a boot screen movie, not a loading icon :)
No idea but I cant see us ever making boot screen movies for the image as frankly it's way to resource hungry and in my opinion a total gimmick of no value. but thats just my personal opinion.

And mine .
river-rat if you want this
install the plugin below, i took the one posted earlier, tweaked it slightly.
restart box after you installed the plugin.
you will now have an animated bootlogo when you bootup. the included video has no sound
tested working fine on latest vix build on the quad.
now you need to find/make your own desired bootvideo and replace the existing one found in /usr/share.
a video of roughly 10seconds long should be fine
not a bad gimmick :)
