Hello guys,
i did an opkg update and opkg upgrade this morning and I saw that now we run kernel 3.5.1 in the quad!!!
Installing kernel-3.5.1 (3.5.1-r7.6) to root...

I did test new kernel and drivers and still 100Mbps.
I have Gigabit Switch:
eth0 Link UP.
Auto config phy
eth0: Link is up, 100 Mbps Full Duplex
lol oh dear :/
i read somewhere on gigablue site, that a kit was being developed, i dont know what this means or if its just there poor english skills.
but a kit to me sounds like an addon bit of h/w.
hopefully im wrong and when they mean kit they just mean drivers or something...
I understood also that it meant just drivers on new Kernel... maybe they meant USB Ethernet Kit to enable Gigabit?
What would be good is to have access to the release note (in English) so we know what is new and for sure this is their 1st 3.5 driver release so we will need again sometime to have something complete and stable.
What video settings are you using with new driver? I choose to start with same settings from openMIPS image... all defaults to 128 and then these values:
Scaler Sharpness 5
Sharpness 256
Dynamic Contrast 3
I noticed that I could get many image combinations to look better than before... need to play more.
Any recommendation? I noticed that HD channels look great now with more Sharpness... and SD looks also a little better, less MPEG noise in the backgrounds.
usb to gbit ethernet kits are already available but max bandwidth through usb2 is 480mbits.

Yes but probably enough to use a small 2.5 HDD with not much performance anyway... 480Mbps will be good enough, with full Gigabit you will encounter other possible bottlenecks in the system anyway.
What kits are already supported with new Kernel 3.x?

good price now it was £30+ before, now only £17..

In the Gigablue support forum seems that the latest openmips release (2013-02-02) dtt is working with new kernel and drivers.
