View Full Version : TM-500HD info
Could anyone tell me if this model, aside from it being a hi-def version,is a similar build to the standard TM-500 or super...just curious as to get an idea.I am aware that there isn't much info around, and have called Technomate regarding this issue.Any input would be appreciated.
Cheers.

It is a stripped down version of the TM-800. I'd avoid it.
Their build quality is the same, not an issue.
I see...so with this rationale, would the user manual for the TM-500 be roughly the same for this model...all said and done?

No, totally different.
If you're looking for a cheap HD Enimga 2 unit look at the MaxDigital XP1000 here http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/Digital-Satellite-Receivers/MaxDigital-Linux-HD-Receivers/MK-MaxDigital-XP1000-Single-Tuner-DVB-S2-HD-Enigma2-Linux-Satellite-Receiver

No thats not correct mate.
The TM500 and TM600 models are both enigma 1 receivers and nothing like the TM800 which we all know was a failed attempt at TM cracking the enigma 2 market.
I still have two TM600's and there nice little boxes but enigma 1 is obsolete these days wirh almost no development. so best go for a dedicated E2 receiver like the TM 2T or the Maxdigital xp1000.

No, Abu is correct the TM-500HD is a scaled down TM800.
I wasn't refering to the HD model I was referring to the 500, 500 super and 600 or at least thats what I read from the post I quoted as abu didnt stipulate 500HD.
Oops just noticed the thread title. So I stand corrected.

...second thought...I've sacked it...or should I say the seller sacked it for me :smiley_yup: ...now that is an honest person...even told me how sh*te it is and to avoid ones from that ilk and era like the plague...kudos for that one!!!
And I'm sorry to say,all be-it a one off experience, for the attitude and all their 'help',Technomate can kiss my arse too!
I consider this escapade a lesson well learned, and thank goodness that I shall not darken it's door again.
TM are not all bad, their recent E2 boxes in the OE series, TM Single, TM Twin and the TM 2T are all pretty decent boxes.
I have used a TM Twin and a TM 2T for a good while now and there every bit as good as my other E2 receivers and i'm more than happy with them, although like all receivers by all manufacturers they have their little niggles which need to be worked out.
