TBH I've lost most confidence in GB :fart2:
Isn't it better to get 3.3.6 drivers than no drivers at all?
I've not seen you complaining that vu aren't releasing new kernel for duo, solo, uno and ultimo, yet solo2 and duo2 are a newer kernel!?
LOL, I guess none of you ever monitored DMM kernel updates.

lol, nope... Dunno what kernel they're on, but I thought, worth pointing out that if you are desperate for kernel updates, it's definitely worth going for an xtrend, since they release drivers today for the latest kernel... :p
What will the kernel update give you, that's not there already.

Thanks blue balls is there not an improvement in picture quality with new drivers or kernel. How is the picture going on the quad with existing kernel or drivers
Changelog:
- Fix Video Mode

There's only one person that calls me BlueBalls. She's quite close to me!! And it's a medical condition!
And true, DTT picture quality could do with improvement. I'm sure release will come - but not as quick as we'd like. I can wait.

They never updated on existing models. Was never any point and most users rossi excluded here would never know or see the benefits.

So why should I give a monkeys about your problems with this box then???
My point was to help you to see about the lack of kernel updates on other boxes, but sorry for trying to help you to see. Keep your blinkers on!
i didnt ask you to give a monkeys dude.
gigablue announced kernel 3.8.3 will be coming in a few days that was a few weeks ago.
now new drivers came for kernel 3.3.6 i stated " i guess kernel 3.8.3 isnt coming"
is that ok?
I assume "FB Speed" is from German and means faster remote control response.
Anyone know what was wrong with the Video Mode and, hence, what has been fixed?
[Edit]
The German support forum for OpenMIPs has a new image version using the new driver and one of the developer reports that the CPU load is still a problem (one thread fully utilizes one of the cores)

Just loaded the drivers, does seem to have faster response :)
Again merely reporting the findings from the German OpenMIPS devs
They suggest two new problems have been introduced:
1. PiP no longer works
2. There is a timing problem for mounts being available when start-up scripts require them if a USB hub is involved
Don't the use beta testers there?
Mmmmmmmmmmm not so good :(
I watched a movie I downloaded and you can see what's on TV at the top and bottom of the screen, very distracting.
I'll try and get a screenshot in a bit. I however is fixed by changing "Letterbox" to "Just scale" in AV settings.
EDIT: can't seem to replicate it this morning but I had done an update earlier so that must has sorted it?

They're all working on 3.8.3
