View Full Version : Using VLC to stream VU+ over the web help please
Hi saw a post - http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/showthread.php?3643-Guide-to-stream-your-VU-Duo-over-the-WEB-using-VLC
It says to Access you VU+ WEB control http://yourbox ip: (port number) usually 80
What goes in 'yourbox'? I have tried it as it is using the ip and port on the set in network set up.
The IP address of your VU box.
JD if you want to thank rather than posting thanks, just click on the thanks button. Not sure what forum admins view is here, and its probably going to be OK but some forums get their knickers in a twist if people post thanks rather than clicking thanks - I got a banning warning another forum that I don't visit anymore for doing this.:eek:
PS IGNORE the angrey face, dont know how it got there and can't delete it in my edit
be aware you will need upward of 1mb uplink to have any hope of streaming over internet and most users who have tried say that results are poor at best
can anyone tell me if its possible to setup a stream so my friend can view , he lives 1 street behind but is on a different network so 192.168 .... will not work , any advice appreciated

Any card sharing talk which includes the same form of streaming to and from different boxes via WAN is frowned upon and is a banned subject as stated in the rules
