View Full Version : smargo and Vu+ ?
Hi
I have 2 cards in slots and want to add a third with smargo reader in back usb slot, how do i do it?
I have gone into blue panal then settings then kernel modules and turned smargo and other usb card readers to yes,but cant see card in entitlements.
I've not had a chance to test a smargo on VU+ Duo yet, but off the top of my head I think you may need to add a line something like this to your CCcam.cfg: -
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/ttsUSB0 XXX0000 <<< Replace the XXX the spead, e.g 357, 600 etc..
You also need to set the smargo to:-
Autoswitch
Dreambox
T=0
EGT 0
With the software on the link below, using a windows PC.

this is what i get in CCcam info:
card reader /dev/usb/tts/0
no or unknown card inserted
this is what i get in CCcam info:
card reader /dev/usb/tts/0
no or unknown card inserted
Did you use the config line I posted above? If so I dont understand why your getting /dev/usb/tts/0
Look closely at the config line: -
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/ttsUSB0 XXX0000 <<< Replace the XXX the spead, e.g 357, 600 etc..
I have tried your config line and the other from other forum, this is using yours:
card reader /dev/ttsUSB0
no or unknown card inserted
sorted
thanks
How did you sort it? Please post the info so it will help others.
did it work with this settings in cccam, cfg file ?
SERIAL READER : /dev/usb/tts/0 smartreader+
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/usb/tts/0 6000000
Please inform us
SERIAL READER : /dev/ttyUSB0
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQENCY : /dev/ttyUSB0 6000000
I was putting the confg lines in example and no removing the hash.
Hope this helps
Does /dev/ttyUSB0 6000000 work then? I thought it had to be /dev/ttsUSB0 6000000 on VU+ or Dreambox. Can you confirm please.
I confirm they work for me in my Vu+,I have 3 locals in and adding a fourth next week.

Did you use tts or tty in the config line?
SERIAL READER : /dev/ttyUSB0
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQENCY : /dev/ttyUSB0 6000000
what is the difference between tts and tty
Ignore tts, I believe that was used with with earlier dreambox kernals.

Got my reader to work using the following line and hashing out the frequency line
SERIAL READER : /dev/ttyUSB0 smartreader+
mrgee
too late for this one, i was going to say you need to add smartreader+ i still run my smargo through an Ubuntu server, how does the VU stack up as a server? reliable?
Runs perfect as a server, but tbh if your anything like me constantly like me tweaking, flashing, crashing your peers wont watch much TV :roflmao: The internal card readers work sweet too btw ;)
I have a DigitALB HD and i read that these come with a soft cam that reads the connax card. i wonder if it would unlock my Digitalb Sports HD chans.... usually the card needs to be paired in order to open the chans.

Oh, so thats what sat boxes are for... watching tv. If only I had the time. I am too busy with my hobby of seeing how many times I crash a sat box in one week.

There's only one (usb-serial or so): see under 'drivers' on the feeds.

Good.
Sorry for my late reply; I have no experience with that device, but I stumbled over it somewhere else.
