View Full Version : SD Quality but HD unchanged
Hi,
Over the last few weeks the picture quality on SD has been really bad.
Grainy.
I am on Vix Apollo 090
SKY HD etc works fine just a issue on the SD, don't think problem with the setting on the LG 3d TV.
Sky signals etc are fine showing 100% and 85%
SD channels showing 576 as opposed to 1080i which i know is for HD.
I normally update through the software on vix, rather than use usb
Thinking of changing the version.
The software wont let me update to a newer version says the latest on is installed.
Anyone can shed some light on this, thanks
SKY HD etc works fine
Is this a joke post ?
Hi,
What does bad mean? Did you change autoresolution settings? What about the picture settings like sharpness or scaler sharpness?
ciao
hi there, its grainy only way to express it, like low resolution, reset the tv to default settings, made no difference,
not much i can change in the vu box as its all standard stuff,
cant be lnb or cable else the sky news hd would be off also.

Hate to say this, but compared to HD, SD is grainy....... What do you expect HD quality?
Picture quality is so personal, my father-in- law thinks his crappy 10 year old TV picture is wonderful... But!

In the A/V Settings on on the vu box do you...
* Have you your setting on auto resolution? Set it to Disabled if you do and change the Mode to 720p
* Are you using HDMI on Video output? If not change to HDMI
* See does the above make any difference
I'm using a Vu+ Duo2 with the VIX image and the quality of the SD Picture is excellent, obviously not as good as HD but still very very good.
SD on a 50 panny plasma is watchable as well as on a LG 42.
Not HD but it's fine for SD.
On solo2 duo2 ultimo and TM2t

I also think the SD picture quality is excellent. I have a Solo2 and Uno.

I think it also goes on what TV you have too. I have a Panny with my Solo2 and a Sony with my Uno and the Sony SD picture quality is exceptional.
Even on a good quality tv,sport is horrible in sd when youve had hd in the past[emoji35]

Depends what settings you have it on and what refresh rate your tv is etc. My Panny is 600Mhz refresh rate and no issues with football. My Sony has a special setting for sports, especially footy and the picture quality is immense. :D
