View Full Version : How can I program the VU+ Duo4K remote to turn off my TV?
Hello,
Is there any possibility to turn my TV off from the VU+ remote?
I tried it with the HDMI CEC, but it didn't work.
My TV is a THOMSON 55UT6006.
Thank you for your help in advance.

What settings for HDMI CEC have you tried so far ? and have you rebooted your STB after making changes ?
If you want your remote to switch off TV
Set-up Sequence: <<1 + 3>>, <4digit brand-code>, <<Mute or Power>>
1. Press number 1and 3 for three seconds until LED is on.
2. Find your TV brand-code from the TV code list and insert 4 digit code.
- If you press “0000”, Full Automatic Scan will start. This will take a while.
3. Keep pressing Mute button (or Power) until your TV is muted (or turned off)
4. If your TV is muted (or turned off), stop pressing Mute button.
5. Now, your RCU is in test mode and press Volume + /- to check if your TV responds.
6. If the volume buttons are operational, Press <OK + STOP ( )> to escape from the set-up mode.

Thanks, I need to try that.
EDIT: When I hold the number 1 and 3 for three seconds, there happens nothing. I mean, the LED on the remote won't go on. It goes on only, for a short time, when I change the channel to 1 or 3.
You don't mention an AV receiver in your first post but you have configured it, also try playing with minimum send interval.

Well, that's right, because I don't have an AV receiver, but I found that settings somewhere in the Forum, so I just made it 1:1.
But, to be clear, for now I only have a TV and a VU+ Duo 4K, nothing else.
Played with the minimum send interval, but it doesen't work either.
Any suggestions how to solve that problem?

I used this guide to programme my duo 4k remote. You need to press tv power and the ok button for a few seconds until the LED lights up.

Indeed, that worked for me too, thank you a lot.
Short manual how to do it (for people searching for it):
1. Make sure that the volume on the STB is at 100%.
2. Hold TV and OK button for 3 sec. until the LED turns on.
3. Press the 5-digit TV code - in my case - for Thomson it was 10716. The TV codes are listed in the manual from the STB.
4. Press OK to save it and you are done.
If you mess something up, you can easly reset it by holding PVR and EXIT for 3 sec.

Your description is for an IR remote
The remote to the duo 4k is also bluetooth capable. Activate bluetooth within openvix and see manual.
