View Full Version : Adding Openvix image to Opentav
Hi.
My HD51 came with openatv installed and I now want to add Openvix.
What is the best way to do this and is there a guide to do this?
I'd prefer to keep both images on the box, if possible.
Thanks.
Flashing ATV from ViX is easy in Image Manager, it just asks which partition you want to flash to.
I'm not sure if it's quite so easy flashing ViX from ATV.
I would make a backup image before you try it.
I think in ATV you can use the yellow button to choose which Startup you want to backup to, so try using that method.
Just transfer the latest OPenViX image to your HDD - then in ATV‘s Flash online, choose the STARTUP option you want (suggest say STARTUP_4) hit local (yellow button? Sorry has to be from memory), then device button - find the file on the hdd and then hit Flash...... forget about saving backup options, just hit exit after flashing, then long press power button, multiboot option and select STARTUP_4

Apologies - I did not remember asking this previously.

No need to apologize, just jogging your memory.
In essence, all you are doing is using the flash online facility to flash the image. You will be prompted to select which slot to flash it to.
The ViX implementation is better because you see what is there already.
Put the zip file on hdd/images create the images folder if needed Then when you choose flash local it should show the image there rarther than having to try and find it.
