Hello all,

I wonder if you could help me.

I have just bought a VU+ Solo 4k from Ebay. I currently have a normal Sky dish and LNB and I want to replace it with a unicable LNB with an additional legacy port.

I live in the north of england and I think the dish is 60cm. I need the legacy port to run an old Freesat box in the bedroom.

Am I right in saying I could buy this LNB :

https://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/gt-sat-gt-s1dcss24-unicable-lnb-1-legacy?search=unicable%20lnb

and then buy this bracket to connect it to my Sky LNB :

https://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/satellite-and-terrestrial/universal-and-unicable-lnb/Technomate-LNB/sky-universal-40mm-lnb-holder-for-mk4-zone-1-or-2-satellite-dish

Also, am I right that I will then be able to record 8 channels at the same time? At the moment I can only record a couple before some channels get greyed out.

Any advise is very welcome,

Thanks

Correct on all three counts although you will get a lot more than 8 channels.

Please refer to the guides in unicable section if you need them.

I forgot to add, if you can add a Terrestrial tuner, that is an even better setup. What is the current receiver you have?

Hi,

It's a VU+ Solo 4k which does have an empty slot for a DVB-T2 so I might get one of those as well.

Sorry, I was asking what the solo 4k is replacing.

Hi,

Apologies. It is replacing a Sky Q box.

Ok thanks. How many satellite cables have you got connected to the solo 4k at the moment? If not two, are you able to? The LNB end need to be connected to the universal outputs.

Hi, at the moment there are two cables going to the Solo 4k but I will be using one of the cables to fee a Freesat box so I was hoping that a unicable LNB would mean I only needed one cable and then use a splitter etc.
