[VU+ Ultimo] New ViX Team VU+ Ultimo OE3.0 Release Discussion

Hi Just updated to the latest unstable update 294 box now boots up ok I have noticed if you press '0' ie panic button it crashes the box this was also present in build 282 but not in the last stable build maybe bouquet related but i dont think so as I have tried this bouquet on all these builds and only crashes on build 282 and 294 crash log attached

should be fixed in the next build.

Have you gone into software and enabled allow unstable builds? otherwise it will only show updates when the image is set to stable.

Or you can go into the image section and manually install one of the later builds

Make sure you back up settings first

Ahh, I wasn't aware that the newer builds fell into the unstable bracket. Sorted now, cheers mate!

They are set as unstable until we are satisfied there are no major bugs and than moved to stable

hi all greetings from Spain.
I had installed the version ViX-2.4.213 and I recognized the USB hard drive without problem.
The USB hard drive is formatted in NTFS.
With all versions I've tried openvix 3.0 stable, I do not recognize this usb hard drive.

Thank you very much for everything

Last night @ around 9:30 pm my Ultimo when recording two different channels and watching another with dish moving (motor on tuner A) I then had a black screen and nothing showing even within the recordings that had previously been made (could not view anything just black screen !) rebooted E2 and still no picture ? so hard rebooted then everything back to normal ! this has never happened before yesterday and i was watching a recording @ the time when it occurred, the screen on the recorded program just froze so i exited the recording to find the dish moving icon on the screen as above all black ?? I did update earlier last evening to build 343 so maybe something wrong there.????

just tested 3.0.343, went through everything find until i tried a channel, just box's coming up on my tv screen. tryed to update to no avail
is there something im missing here?

Build 343 has indeed a problem updating via the GUI; via telnet you can update without any problem.
This will be fixed in the next build (but obviously you'll have to update via telnet to get there).

Yeah this has happened to my box, in an update loop with the updates never being applied. From a telnet prompt enter this to update further:

init 4 && opkg update && opkg upgrade && init 6

...and off it goes... Thanks

Since you're now on 350 you can again update via the GUI.
Do you have picons installed on USB?

For picons on USB the telnet update doesn't work; an update via the GUI should do the trick.

No not working after checking the update just getting a black screen not showing anything to update ?

Ok weird this ! Just did an online update (even though nothing was in the update screen?) took about 10 minutes to reboot and now still on 350 but no flashing green light and after checking for software updates it now returns nothing to update ???? weird.:D

No, that's not weird. That means that the image is still on 350, but that other packages have been updated. As it took 10 minutes it's very likely that the picons have been updated; that always takes quite some time.

cheers Rob the weird bit was the fact that when I viewed and reviewed the changes there was nothing in the review screen !! usually you get all the text telling you what has been done and also the new revision that you will be on ?
