Gigablue UHD Quad 4K Pro - Remote not responding

I am not sure if this is the right group, but my problem is as follows.

I have a Gigablue UHD Quad 4K Pro and OpenVix 6.8.006 and the original remote that came with the device.

The first time the problem occurred was when I decided to restart the device via the menu (Menu, Shutdown menu and Restart device. When the device restarted, the remote control could no longer connect to the device, even though the lights on the remote control and the device were flashing, meaning there was a connection, but they did not recognize each other.

The log file only contained the entry < 45.031648> [InputDevice] Remote remap evdev='event1', name='gigablue remote control': Error: Unknown device!

After I repeated the restart several times, the remote control started working again.

Now today I decided to update to the latest version OpenVix 6.8.006 and after the device restarted, the remote control no longer worked, and it still doesn't work. I have tried changing the remote control code between Code1 and Code2 but it has had no effect.

The device works normally, but I must use the remote control in the WebOpenIf program on my mobile phone as a remote control.

What exactly is wrong? How do I get the remote control to work again?

Just recently, again, the receiver has intermittently stopped responding to the remote. This seems to happen when the tv has been switched off for any lenght of time , and when it is turned back on again, it seems to come on at Ch5 select. It is then that the receiver becomes non responsive, but not always then, and I have to hard restart the receiver and press the Giga and TV buttons alternatly until the receiver responds to the remote.
It is becoming a bit annoying now a it has done this a few times over the last week.

Is there any permanent fix for this.

I have had my gbuhd4k receiver ( main lounge receiver) for almost 9 years and have been through 3 remotes and the gbue4k orobably 2 remotes.
Often changed batteries to start with but in the end solution was to replace the remote.
Fortunately, 3 of my gigablue boxes are in same area so can use same remote!

Suggestions on how to get the remote working soon. It is very difficult to use the device via Openwebif.

Are you using the Bluetooth interface? If so disconnect and use as normal

No, this gigablue universal v2 dont have bt. And i have never activate or use bt with this settopbox.

Done it but the lights on the device and remote control flash, but the device does not respond to any presses on the remote control otherwise. Tried with 3 different Gigablue remote controls.

If the GigaBlue remote control is not working, please press the GIGA button.

Reset / Delete Function
Simply press the device (TV) button and Button 0 together, when the LED flashes three times, all
settings will be deleted, and the remote goes back to factory default settings.

Change the system Code the remote control
You can change the system code of your GigaBlue remote, according to the GigaBlue model you
want to use. System Code Mode 1 is set as default. Mode 2 is there to support these 2 frequencies to
avoid overlapping with other remotes.
Mode 1: UE Plus, Ultra UE, Quad, Quad Plus, X1, X2, X3, Quad 4K, UE 4K, UE 4K cable
Mode 2: UE Plus, Ultra UE, Quad, Quad Plus, X1, X2, X3, Quad 4K, UE 4K, UE 4K cable
Fashion 3 & 4: reserved for future models.

I did have a GigaBlue Universal 4K Remote Control Unit RCU VERSION V3 4K04 and it did stop working even though led did still fash when you pressed remote buttons but it was broken I did have to buy a new one.
But in your case I cannot see that being the broblem when you say you have tried 3 remotes.

I using GigaBlue RCU/FB Universal v2 4K-HD06

This all what I did (in order):
I press the device (TV) button and Button 0 together
GigaBlue system Code Mode 1 is set as default
Menu / Settings / System / Devices / Coding remote control
then I tryed with both code 1 and code 2
Press OK to go to the next menu.
Press the GIGA and 5 buttons for approx. 5 seconds until the 3 x LED lights up.
Press the OK button

Nothing. I can't uderstand why its work firstly and then nothing. This is so frustrating. Would it help if I reverted to an older version of OpenVix that worked in the beginning?

Have you checked the remote are actually sending signals? You cannot see it with the naked eye. One way of checking is pointing the remote to a camera on a smartphone.

The remote control does send a signal to the device itself and the device does respond (blue light flashes when pressing the remote control buttons), but still nothing happens.

I can only think that you have set the remote code and its not supported by this box.
I have had many genuine gigablue 4K remotes and they all work (until they break) across all the gigablue boxes

I do have 3 Gigablue original remote controls and at the moment none of them doesnt communicate with the boz. Box not understand remote controls.

Believe me, I have use AI a lot but it was not so intelligent as it thoughts

Under \root/dev/input/
event1, mice and mouse0

AI SAY: Because:

/dev/input/event1 is giving data
but the device (Enigma2 / OpenViX) is not responding to keystrokes

→ the fault is 100% software-related, not hardware-related.

Most likely cause

Enigma2 is not listening to the correct input device or does not recognize it as a remote control.

So:

the kernel sees the remote control
but Enigma2 is not using it

Flash new image into a slot and see if on boot the image reacts to any of the remotes
If it doesn,t react its an issue with your remotes
If the box reacts, then do not restore settings but setup anew
