    SF 8008 tuner configuration

I have a motorised system with an Octagon SF 8008. I must begin by saying that I am not at all technically minded and as a consequence have found it very difficult understanding the SF8008. My interest is purely channel surfing. A combination of wind and rust led to my dish and motor falling down and needing replacement. This took a few months and has now been done. On restarting the SF8008 satellite & channel data was missing. I was given instructions(from World of Sat) on how to sort things out and pointed to yourselves for further help. I followed the instructions which involved “ Network Multiboot Image Upgrade” When turning the unit on I get a screen saying Open ATV. Using the menu button I found that the tuner was not configured. I unable to find out how to configure it. How do I do this?
    Thank you

I assume Multiboot is a choice of images you can put into any of the 4 slots available .
    OpenVix been one
    OpenAtv been another
    Black hole been another.

Can you remember what Image name you used as might be in another slot?

Please list the motor you are using. Brand/Model. Tuner setup in most images are almost identical.
There are 2 selections for a motorized system. Diseqc and Usals. Let's start there.

Thank you both for replying. I Thought I had selected OpenVix which is what I wanted to do but obviously not The motor is a Technomate TM 2300M3 I selected Diseqc. Should I consider re-doing the upgrade?

Somebody could explain in more details of using usals.
With my setup using a diseqc controller. Scanning the arc is not automatic.
Every satellite must be located and stored by setting a motor controller memory position in tuner setup.
In the motor controller the same position is called up. And the position is stored in the controller as what counter increment was used to find the satellite.
Example in the US. 127W is controller memory store 1. And the counter is at 0000. Stored as that. In tuner setup the position is 1.
For 125W the stored position is 2. The counter to move the dish to that position is 137. Tuner setup for 125W is position 2.
And through the arc. Every satellite must be located and signal peaked for it with the motor controller. Then stored in the memory location for the satellite.
So. For 55W the controller counter displays 2043. The controller memory "slot" is 17. In tuner setup for 55W, the position is set at 17.

Usals satellite locations are burned into the dish movers memory. And in tuner setup you set your geographical location. With those givens. The mover should park the dish at the satellite set in tuner setup.
No idea how a usals mover can have dish positions 'tweaked' to get the maximum signal strength.

Technomate TM 2300M3 = disecg 1.2 and 1.3 so usals : The motor is compatible with DiSEqC 1.2 & 1.3 (goto X) protocols, therefore it will work with compatible satellite receivers on the market.
