Hi.

I have had CCCam running for a long time and every now and then i try and get Mgcamd running.

I have read lots of posts and still can't find a simple guide that will step by step tell me how to do it.

I have installed Mgcamd from the plugins and i have tried various files in various places without any joy.

If anyone can give be a guide that would be great

put your mg_cfg file and newcamd.list files in Var/keys and away you go!

Yes, but what is my mg cfg file and newcamd.list files, and where do I get them?

There are quite a few posts on this, I suggest you do a search. This subject can be a problem for this forum as the discussions often drift into areas which can't be discussed here. Anyway - a quick guide to get MGcam working:

1/ Stop any other cam running, and stop any other cam autostarting (untick the green tick in softcam manager)
2/ Create a mg_cfg file and copy into /usr/keys
3/ Create a newcamd.list file and copy into /usr/keys

As I said, any more detailed information is likely to offend forum rules, so if you want to know more please phrase your question carefully.

If you are using your own card, then help can be given about how to set up the mg cfg and newcamd.list files. Although, if it is a cable card the information is not publicly available.

If you are not using your own card, then no help can be offered here, and you will need to go to a specialist forum - these you will have to search out for yourself.
