[OS-mini] Cannot Flash with USB Stick

Got update notification today for my OS Mini+ and did the online update.

Box stuck on boot screen and wont load any further, i downloaded 5.0.14 image extracted the contents and copied the 5 files from the folder to both 4gb and 8gb USB sticks formatted to fat 32 using HP format tool.

My box doesn't recognize any of these USB hence cannot flash the 5.0.14 image and still tries to boot with the corrupt 5.0.16 image.

im not sure how to check the file structure copied to the USB to make sure its correct.

any help will be really appreciated

Just copy the folder with the files inside onto USB. Not the files.

I've tried both copying the folder and just the files, still no joy

USB sticks are notoriously fickle. Have you tried it in both USB ports on the box? Are you pressing the on button when you power up. Did you download the mini+ image? I'm just going through checks I would do.
Don't forget you put the osmini+ folder on the stick.

I have tried both USB ports, the only thing I haven't done is "press the on button"
According to the flashing guide,
I just need to switch in the receiver and wait for prompt to press the ok button

Do I need to press the power button on the remote when I switch the receiver on?

Plug power lead in. Straight away hold the on button until flashing menu appears.

what is the recommended ? ive used 1 x 4gb and 2 x 8gb capacity sill no joy.

What makes are they. The cheaper Chinese eBay ones sometimes are not so good. I tend to use sandisk or Kingston.

4Gb is Kingston whilst the 8gb is transcend, im now looking on amazon to get this one

just make a 256 Mb size partition on your stick and will be working fine.Tested several usb's here that did not work according to others in that way and all worked fine with the small size partition.

Just tried your suggestion, still the box isn't recognising the usb.
I used mini tools to create 256 mb partition

Update to 016 by command line.

Pulled the Internet cable, reconnected back and executed the command via PuTTY.
It's now up and running, working on image 0.16

Thanks a lot, I've spent the whole day trying to flash 0.14 image.

Can I use the same command line on my OS MEGA? need to update the kodi on it to 17.3

Yes you can. But if it is working, just update to 016 using remote.
