Hi folks, hopefully i'm in the right place for some expert out there to help. thanks in advance.

Vu+duo 4k se, open vix on nightly build, start playing up a week ago with the PVR not being available, then the HDD disapeared all together.
Replaced it yesterday and now afyer doing so the whole system seems to have been infested with gremlims.

The EPG disapeared,
Couldn't enter menu function,
Gone to do a factory reset, and now i have the Open Vix display on the tv but having to view everything through the small onboard display. (As shown in Pics)

Is it for the bin or is it possible to save it?

In its time its had 4new HDD, with them all having same problem. dropping unrecognisable.

The receiver is working, it is showing on the TV screen. Have you tried to restart it? Can you please go into following menu structure and say what image is on the receiver. I am on 6.8 001
Menu > Information > About

What dish/lnb do you have? And how many cables? Is your receiver configured to match the dish/lnb configured to each tuner? (Should be as it is finding channels)

What do you mean by nightly build? And in your second pic you have a keyboard on top of a very expensive box that requires ventilation!! You may have fried those hdd and were they ssd or old type?

You have done something wrong but I would have a look at box temperature and start from scratch and forget about nightly build!

There is no "nightly build" from OpenViX.

"Factory reset" means "please delete all my channels and configuration" which is why no channel shows. Did you make a backup before doing that?

So now your best bet is to reflash the latest image (6.8.001). Do this from Menu > Setup > ViX > ImageManager... YELLOW to download... BLUE to flash... then set up from scratch.

Glad your sorted and the keyboard looked so neat as if it was always placed there, hence my ref. I used multiboot from the outset. I dont use the LCD display on box, Here's a tip if you get a glitch , i use openwebif and then use remote control feature to access bits and if necessary do a reboot. I dont like powering off at rear and I check temperature regularly.
I dont think iI have ever done a factory reset on these boxes so will park that just in case.

Absolutely and in our case (inland Australia) we had 40.5°C ambient yesterday but the VU+ Duo 4KSE is cool because there is an exit fan on top and a pusher fan to its right, also the cabinets have an extraction fan on each level.

I run 24V Ceramica fans at 12 V where they are reasonably efficient, yet completely quiet, for the peaks we put a floor fan on the UPS (APC SUA1500i) at the rear of our HT cabinet which also moves air off our Sony / Linux 55" TV.

Wow yes, can't recall having to cold stop our VU+ Duo 4K SE (we have two) bought in 2020 and now with the July last drivers' we have the best HT and our favourite MIS Sat @45,000 SR.
