[VU+ Uno4KSE] Difference between Bouquet Maker Xstream and m3uiptv?

Hi everyone from down under hope everybody had a great Xmas and new years :). I finally reflashed my box from my last update from March 2024 running built in DVB-T tuner and Jedi maker xtream for IPTV, and its day and night how good it runs. Since learning maker xtream is no longer supported I Installed BMX and it's so much better with streams and now supports icons without altering channel names. Now I saw a new plugin made m3uiptv and I wanted to know the difference? The thing I like with BMX is that I can copy my M3U in as where I can't see that option in m3uiptv.

m3uiptv plugin works different than BMX. So instead to copy your m3u to somewhere you specify the url or path to it.
Also m3uiptv plugin is deeply integrated in enigma so it uses standard screens and resources. So its not needed of custom screens and skins for it.
Well it have some "disadvantages" over BMX since its VOD section is much simpler and not so fancy. Also the configuration might be slightly more difficult.
But on the other hand it supports M3U, Xtream Codes, Stalker, TVHeadend.
Also supports EPG and picons downloading. As well as support catchup/archive/timeshift on supported providers.
Only way to see it in action is to try it. :whistle:
 
I have always been a fan of kiddac,s xstreamity, but on my main box I have now replaced with m3uiptv plugin, because its integrated, creates the necessary bouquets which if the provider supports delayed playback and you save your epg for 7 days, you can just select a previous program from the epg and play it… nice.
Also for IPTV videos just go to menu/video on demand ..simple.
 
I am a fan of m3uiptv but there doesn't sdeem to be an option to update the playlist at defined intervals.. I am manually (re)generating boquets to see the changes.

Thanks I'll try it when I get a chance. I would be good in an update to be able to paste the M3U txt like BMX does.

Thanks ill try it when I get a chance. Would be nice in an update of the plugin to be able to edit a txt file like BMX does. Makes it much easier.

Yes no such an option yet. But might be in future.

Yes its easier but its not the way the plugin works. It is mainly made for using with online playlists when you provide url. So no need to paste anything.
If you still want can use a local playlist and nothing prevent pasting it in a folder in your box and put the path to it in plugin config.

Thank you for that, I will try that. I did actually tonight get some free time to add my server details in and all the bouquets were downloaded. Silly question I might have missed the option, how do I select which bouquets to download like BMX has?

So you can blacklist some bouquets (based on the groups) by go to edit mode of your provider/server and press blue button. There you can tick the groups that you dont want. So to work you must at least once downloaded all bouquets. Then it will delete the marked ones in the blecklist.

Please read the m3uiptv plugin guide. I think almost every question you have asked is answered there.

m3uiptv is an integrated solution. It feels like you are in regular enigma screens, i.e. same look and feel.

I think the pasting part request is for pasting a URL instead of typing out the whole thing. I know this can be done but it's trickier than simply pasting a URL in KiddaCs plugins as you have to paste it in html intstead of a txt file.
 
How do you imagine that import? I miss something maybe.....
What do you want to import from txt?
 
They want to write a URL to a text file, send it to the receiver, and have the receiver read it.

When you can just edit the provider file, also a text file, and send that to the receiver, doing the above seems to serve no purpose.
 
in BMX (or xstreamity) you only need to set a line in playlist.txt to give your provider credensials and much easyer then editing a XML file.Think that is what is meant
 
Well and how you set all the required parameters?
Its needed much more settings than just url, username, password. Like how will be played, catchup type, do you want picon download... How that will be set up if you have txt with only url and credentials?
 
for settings etcetera you do not need the keyboard to enter parameters
