Hi noticed today that i have a 3d channel on my vu+ duo. I do not have a 3d tv but had a look anyway and to my suprise there was a picture showing, 2 pictures the same either side. My question is if i was to get a 3d tv then would the vu+ be able to show the 3d tv channel or would i have to get a different box to be able to watch it thanks

Yes with a 3d tv you can view these channels.

bob just curious if you have not got a 3d tv then can you still veiw the actual channel [a bit like watching hd tv via a scart lead. no hd but you can watch the channel]

Yes, but you get the symptom shown by what the op posted (i.e. the double picture...). It's not really viewable...

Sent by my phone

in that case poo i think i got a problem with mine as i always get a blank screen with nothing showing. the only reason i ask is because i want a 3d tv but just want to see that it works on the vu

its a bit different

also if i was to try kos frequency how do i input it into satellite.xml or is it best to do it through the box as a one off scan

Your sky uk 3d wont open to view until you ask sky to open it. It used to be a bit of an interrigation where you had to give the serial number of a 3d tv before they cleared the signal but i heard from others that its not as hard to get them to switch it on now

As tom says, you can view the channels and get what I state, but only if you are subscribed to it...

oh rite i see well i'll try get em to open it if not down to local dixons to view the back of a 3d tv on display lol [only joking]

it is very good vieweable on a 3D TV like Panasonic tx 50 vt20e. But you need the glasses...

It is then a top picture with HD Quality...

Thanks for all the replys just got to pursuade the missus. Has any one watched football in 3d and is it any good thanks

If you are on the top package its already decoded and provided free of charge, if its any other package you may well have to pay for it.
Having watched Despicable Me in 3D in the cinema it was very nice but really cant see the fascination with home telly. In my house they are 7 viewers, thats 7*150 for glasses alone.

I'm getting a new conservatory built in my house and when it's done in a few weeks I'm going to have a bare 5 meter wall. Being a conservatory a projector is out of the question so was thinking of a 60 inch tv, but then I seen the Currys deal of a 50" Samsung 3D full HD with 3D Blu Ray Player and 3 x pairs of 3D glasses for £999.

I'll be getting the 60" tv for not much more than that, but the 3D is swaying towards the Currys deal... so do people think 3D is worth it or what?

i tend to agree with stanman on this one. in principle 3D tv is a cracking idea but in reality having to watch programmes with a pair of 3d specs will soon become more than a nuisance. especially for those like my self who wear specs in the first place. then what if you misplace them or break them ?.

nahh i think i'll stick with my 50" plasma ( even though i caught one of my macaws gnawing and trying to chew his way to china through my telly yesterday. )
good job for him he didnt do any damage or i would have had a £2000 chicken dinner last night LOL.

the only big pain in the but with 3d sly is i looked yesterday on sly website and saw you only become eligible for sly 3d if your on a £71 per month tarrif

and as for 7 glasses that cant work either because 3d has a small viewing angle so 7 people in th eliving room cant be on 1 sofa and if they spread out the loose that veiwing angle and wont see 3d

@phoenix soon 3d will go glasses free but your looking at 5 years or so nintendo 3ds have started the consept but its still flawed. it uses the images by reversing the 3d so its not comming out at you but rather your looking deep into it bit like a reverse hologram

I have tried the 3D tv down at the local currys but i have a lazy right eye so cant get the benefit of 3D as it all looks fuzzy and out of focus

Bah, don't say that... The missus'll never give me a chance to get a 3dtv now as she has lazy eye too :p Hehe. Think I'm prolly stuck for the next 5 years or so with my current tv, because the missus says I can't replace it until it has died! Hoping that the trip to the in-laws and his new 50" tv will persuade her I need a bigger tv, but she'll likely turn round saying it's too big!!! :(
