[GiGaBlue QUAD] DVB-C Freezing

Hi Guys,

I have a Gigablue Quad using 2 DVB-C Tuners, and 090 version.

This issue happens with all versions.

When I'm watching the DVB-C channels (on both tuners), from time to time I got a pixeled picture and a small freeze.

Does anyone have the same issue?

When I see the signal levels I have 87% on SNR and 79% on AGC. Are this values ok?

Any sugestions of how to fix this?

Does this also happen on FTA channels which I believe are the main 4/5 channels! At least BBC1/2 and I think ITV/C4. Not so sure about C5.

All other channels are scrambled and it maybe it's your MGCamD line provider or config file. If it's your line provider then we can't discuss that on this forum.

It happens even on FTA channels! So it's not because of the cam.

By the way, I'm in Brazil... here the DVB-C network uses QAM-256.

I woud like to compare my signals levels with other that also uses DVB-C.

I have SNR 87% and AGC 59% on QAM128, can't test QAM256 at the moment because I have recordings on both tuners.
It is sad that the BER does not work in DVB-C, or T or S, because of lousy drivers. I once tested with an adjustable attenuator if I could find the picture limits of SNR and AGC. Did not succeed because the percents change in big steps, some thing like 87% and next reading is 78%. I had perfect picture and black screen with same values. QAM256 needs higher SNR and AGC for picture than QAM128.

Also the scaling of SNR and AGC are not ideal, adjusting the attenuator had more change in signal values in my Sony tv and old SD cable box, telling you that the levels have changed. The Quad c/t-tuner is the least sensitive tuner I have and the loop-thru attenuation is high. I have to use a 1:4 splitter (two to Quad, one to tv and one to old stb) to get good picture on Quad on the second tuner, with loop thru from the first tuner I had problems with QAM256 muxes.

I also use a spliter for the two DVB-C tuners, and not the looptrough connection.

Please tell me how are signals on a 256-QAM mux when posible.

I have SNR 87% in all channels, and AGC from 76% to 81%, the changes are little.

I don't know what to do anymore!

I've tried an amplifier (20dB), but I lost all the channels... I think that it became two high.

I have other receivers (not Enigma2) from other brands, and they work perfectly... this issue happens only on Quad.

Can be an issue on DVB-C drivers?

I fixed this issue!

I changed to OpenPLI image and I have no more freezing on DVB-C!

But I like so much OpenVIX image!

I hope to back do OpenVIX someday!
