Is there also software comming for the new Gigablue Quad 4k pro?????

This is an interesting question and i have been waiting for someone to post it. Maybe no vix yet as the forum sponsor don't seem to have them in stock yet. There are 3 x images available that i have tried so far if you have not tried them all yet. If vix have started building and want a test pilot then i have a spare slot in my box ready and waiting.

All the required changes are on…you can either wait or build it ….I have the receiver and its really great box,especially on OpenViX!

Tell me how are you finding the signal levels against other boxes. I think there is about a 10% drop in signal levels against other models of receivers. I don't want to devalue the box as i really like it.

I wish i knew how to build my own image but i would not know where to start. If there are any guides link me to them and i'll take a look.

Signal levels : depends ….for me the tuners on the older boxes were better on tight signals. Also with FBC tuners (my view) you need to use a unicable LNB… and some are much better than others…… as usual don,t always expect a top brand to be the best! I use gigablue and Gt-Sat currently, but have tried most including many switches.
Across the boxes the Pro is as good as any tuner wise…….. and all my boxes go through the same setup…..if anything its better than zgemma and same as Vu+.
I (for my sins) have a collection of receivers (zgemma, Vu+, dreambox, Xtrend, Gigablue) and whilst I regret the loss of Xtrend (they were much better than Vu+ in my view),for me the Pro is the best of the recent bunch over the last 18 months.(excluding Dreambox which is a different comparison)
…….. and if you want fbc tuners is the way to go in my view…….plugin tuners to come

I live in Germany on the edge for 28.2E, so if there was a tuner issue I would know… I need every dB. The dish in the picture is 1.5M.

I posted this earlier on another forum, the lnb in universal and is some years old. It's a smart titanium. All the cables, splitters are all the same. The receiver i tested it against is a qviart dual but the dual gives the same levels are an older solo 4k.

Well you are looking at OpenATV and I don’t,t know without looking what they have in their C++ code (frontend.cpp) to convert the signal for those boxes tuners…..which is why comparing boxes on the SNR you see is not that viable.
My reference is do I receive 28.2E or not, or when do I lose it…… and based on that are the comments above.(since modified) ….. I am really on a marginal reception here which means I really know how good the tuners and lnb,s are at receiving.

I only did the test with openatv to keep the images the same, i also have teamblue and openspa in the multiboot slots but i did not have those on the dual. I am not saying that the tuner is weaker in any way what i am saying is that the signal levels are approx 10% down, not that the signal strenght is 10% less, just the signal levels showing lower than other boxes.

With regards to signal strength i did try an watch a feed on 7e tonight with my 1.3m dish with a horizonal beam an although i got the feed it was breaking up. I guess i usually lock V signal easier.

You are looking at the output of an arithmetic algorithm based on driver output. This has nothing to do with the capability of the tuner, it is just a display thing. If you want to do a proper test tune a signal that your reference box is struggling to receive and compare with that. Obsessing over display numbers is not helpful.
