[GiGaBlue UHD UE 4K] Gigablue UHD UE 4K Crashes with Tivusat since firmware upgrade

Good morning,

I was running Openvix 6.4.004 on my Gigabule UHD UE 4K since purchasing it mid 2023, but decided a few days ago to update the firmware to the latest revision 6.6.003.

When my Tivusat cam is inserted it seems any firmware revision from 6.5.001 onwards causes the box to reboot and produces a crash log. The box will continue to reboot until i remove the Tivusat cam.

If flash the box back to 6.4.004 all is fine and no crashing / rebooting while the Tivusat cam is inserted. And all works as it should.

This is the Enigma crash log below. The date was actually the 14th of July yesterday. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

If we give you an image for GB UE 4K are you able to test? Just load it in another slot.

@markf79 - you will also need to ensure debug logs are enabled, as hopefully the code change will produce information relating to the crash....... menu/setup/system/logs/settings enable, save not to flash (hdd or usb) , local time

@Markf79 - so please ensure debug logs are enabled.
Then download image attachment and copy to media/hdd/imagebackups or wherever you store downloaded images. ... this is an unofficial image to get more information for your CI issue.

Flash to a slot as usual using ImageManager and restore settings.

Hopefully once it boots up you will not see the crash when you change to one of the CI services , but there should be more information in the log.

Can you then attach (Manage attachments ---> bottom left button) and post the debug log here.-

I just noticed this and wonder if it is a similar problem to mine. The problem relates to my Kabelio CAM and Vuduo4kSE running OpenViX 6.6.005 (2024-08-01-Release).

I have had a lot of issues with this CAM to the point I had to replace my Zgemma H7S with this box, and have been running Openpli 9, which runs "out of the box" with no helper needed. However keen to get back to Vix I have been trying each new build and this (6.6) appears to be the first to run straight away without further plugins. However, after a full reboot it no longer sees the CAM (dmesg shows a " 0: cannot recognize pc card"). The only way to recover it is to pull the CAM out and reinsert it, which I do not want to do too often on the live box. I subsequently installed the latest helper plugin (5.8.2) and got the same symptoms as above. It seems to solve the CAM recognition on boot but just as the picture clears it looks like the helper steps in and restarts it and then does a UI restart.

I should note that I have referred to this issue at the end of a long thread related to the above trail of woe (Zgemma/Kabelio etc) on the pli board, but clearly this is an OE issue now.

Just to be clear, ahead of installing the helper, the enable/reenable & init/reset options do not work as it cannot see the CAM, suggesting this problem is at lower level in the s/w stack on boot.

Maybe there are some timing issues.... play with the options for the slot....I have no other ideas.
As far as i know the cam modules have to be initialized before enigma to be started...

Have now tried a few timing settings but unfortunately they did not change things. However, I have found that I can cause it to be recognised by disabling the slot then doing a full reboot and then re-enabling it. It then sees the CAM as normal and initialises it. This again, is with no additional helpers etc installed. At least this avoids having to pull the CAM in and out, even if it is a bit of a tedious process. Maybe (mods) this should be a separate thread as I think it is diverging from the Gigablue issue and is a new VuDue4Kse issue?
