[Zgemma H7] Gstreamer stopped working

When I try to play h264 .ts files that are not mp2 audio (e.g ac3, aac) I get a blank screen and it will not play.

This has only happened around 09/10/2024 as all was well before and when I try files acquired before this date that played ok, these also are affected.

I have the same 6.6 release on my Zgemma H7S, VUDuo4KSE and Octagon SF8008 and the same problem has emerged at the same time without any manual intervention from me. I do have the 24 hour update check enabled on each box.

Are you using gstreamer from serviceapp?
Log says serviceapp in use...

I am not sure I know - I have exteplayer3 installed. I recall this originally was to help with playback problems on IPTV and mp4 files. Is serviceapp a plugin?

Updated: yes on that box enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-serviceapp (0.5+git200+cfee7a50+cfee7a58ea-r3)
enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-serviceapp version 0.5+git-r3, but not on the zgemma or the vuduo4kse

How you invoke the play? And is other files with mp2 audio play? Is the problem only on mp4 files? How about mkv?
Need more info since i have no issues here play vod with gstreamer.

Thanks dimitarCC - I use the files button and press ok to play (playlist on the Octagon, PVR on the vu). However in my effort to get a consistent view across the three boxes, I do not seem to be getting consistent results. I think out of fairness to anyone that has spent time on looking at this I need to get my act together and eliminate any “red herrings” etc. I will try and provide a clearer presentation of the issue tomorrow. Apologies.

I think I should close this issue. It has been an object lesson (for me) in not jumping to conclusions, and whilst I have some specific file/player compatibility issues that I am working through, my initial premise of a bug in gstreamer is unfounded. Apologies Rob.
