its a strange question, sorry.
i am sure i have username/password security enabled for the webIF and i want to disable this for a little project i am working on but i am doing all this remotely, not in front of the box.

i am basically away at in-laws for xmas, borred and i am using PuTTy/ssh to configure my PLEX server with a Dreambox plugin. The last step for me is to disable webIF security on my VUsolo so the PLEX plugin can talk to the VUSolo on port 80.

is there a way of disabling it via ssh? or amending a pref file or something?

any help would be great. BTW, this plex dreambox plugin lets you change channel and stream via the home NAS plex server to anywhere (with picons displayed) its a nice plugin.!

There is a section in the /etc/enigma2/settings file - config.OpenWebif.auth=true & config.OpenWebif.auth_for_streaming=true

I presume change the =true to =false for what you want. Do an init 4, edit, int3 sequence to make the changes
