Hi

I have a script that pings google in order to keep hsdpa line on (instead of umts)...how to start it at boot (or alternatively from /etc/ppp/ip-up.d)?
Just tried with new cron manager but the feature is not avalaible.

Thanks!!

try this

sudo edit your rc.local file

located in /etc/rc.local

and add to the bottom of the page

Code:
sleep 1
ping www.google.co.uk
exit 0

or what ever ping address you use

personally i would use

_www.bbc.co.uk

this will then every reboot send a ping out

I don't find rc.local file in /etc...so I created it but no result, maybe it's the correct location (in other images is in /var o other).

Thanks...

the main boot file is rcS in etc/init.d/

but editing this CAN cause your receiver to not boot properly

I wrote this code:

sleep 120
while [ 1 ]; do
/bin/ping -c 1 -s 1 88.149.128.3
sleep 2
done

..and receiver didn't boot. Now with original rcS (via ftp) it works fine but the script..?

Thanks
