Idreamx Connection Issues

Hi Guys,

im having an issue connecting my VU+ Duo to iDreamX. Its a second hand box reading other forums the password should be blank unless its been changed. When i open the Box preferences on IdreamX the user name is root and there is already a password. Any ideas please help?

if the image was already loaded prior to you getting the box it is very possible the previous owner set a password, if you flashed it your self there should be no password set ( assuming your using ViX ).

No it's black hole. so if i flash VIX (which i wanted to do anyway) will this resolve the issue?

Before i flash the box do i need to prepare the box for the flash in any way? i.e. reset to factory settings?

Im new to this as you can properly tell

the vix image is now installed, still can't connect. do i need to do anything with OpenWebif?

are you sure you're using the correct IP address?
Menu -> Information -> Network

also i'm not sure if idreamx actually needs you to set a password first if so then use the passwd command via a telnet session to set a password.

via terminal ive entered root for login. what is root@vuduo:~# requesting me to do?

yes i have the correct ip address.

by the above your logged into the box as it's not asking for a password.

now issue the passwd command ( exact spelling ) then hit enter, now type the new password and hit enter, ( you will have to do this twice ).

Thats it the new password will be set for every thing including FTP and telnet.

ive removed the ip address from the screen print. not sure if its safe to post my ip lol
