Any plans to support PRO version? I'm assuming it needs own image, since there is separate image for PRO in OpenATV.

Tested building 6.5.001 OpenVix and works. Also feeds are working.

Thanks for info ---- as far as I can see the only difference is that it loads a BT driver for the Pro (as gets picked up as gbmv200), so should build clean and works - as you have posted.
I guess image availability depends on WoS plans.

Any noticeable differences with the Pro??

PRO physical size is smaller and has wifi and bluetooth. Similar to Octagon sf8008 supreme, but without internal SSD slot.

Original Trio has Silabs si2166, PRO has Availink avl62x1. (This also means SNR for unlocked signals is available)

Remote control is different.

Thanks - Gigablue must have run out of original casings! ... but looks neat

Is there a plan to support the pro version? I've tried to flash with the Trio 4k version but it fails to read it from my USB stick even do it flashes the emmc files ok. Also won't setup the network?

At the moment we don't have a sample nor any plans to support anymore receivers. Problem we have is server storage space to support more receivers. Currently there are 3 servers to keep OpenViX online. Forum server, OpenViX build server and OpenViX downloads and feeds server. Also there's a 4th server that hosts EPG data for EPG importer. There's around 6 different hosting's to host EPG data alone for EPG Importer. Users take this for granted as if its free, but nothing is free in life.

I think our users take for granted that OpenViX will always be online. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication in the background from the team to keep OpenViX going. Huevos, Twol, and all the beta testing team dedicate at lot of hours to OpenViX and OE-Alliance.

The server hosting costs are in the region of £2000.00 per year.

Donations in 2023 where £70!
Donations so far in 2024 are £20!

I pains me to say this, but unless donations improve we can't guarantee OpenViX will remain online, let alone host anymore receivers.

I ordered the pro earlier today wish I had come on this site sooner Now I know there is no vix image support for the pro box , I always used vix images on boxes I have had . Think I may send box back .

You can build image yourself. I'm doing that anyway, because I need to include my own enigma2 changes. No need to build feeds, gbtrio feeds are working also for pro

Thanks for the info on that , problem is I do not have a clue about building my own image . I struggle to flash Images at times :roflmao::)

A solution for the Pro is to use Original Trio image with Pro drivers. This is not hard to do because all the files you need are in one folder. Copy the driver files from the Pro, install them in the original Trio image, set the load file to execute in telnet and Reboot. You then have a Trio Pro.

I see drivers here when I use winrar is these the files I look for . rootfs.tar.bz2\.\lib\modules\4.4.35\kernel - TAR+BZIP2 archive,IMG_20240725_155540_MP.webp

You are close. The drivers you want to swap are in /lib/modules/4.4.35/extra.

I have attached the Trio 4K Pro drivers. Unzip the attached file, delete your extra folder in the receiver, or replace all the files in the extra folder in the receiver with the ones that are attached. Then, using In telnet,
cd /lib/modules/4.4.35/extra
chmod 0755 load
reboot

I don't suggest doing this unless you know how to use the recovery menu in the receiver. The receiver will fail at boot if you make a mistake.

There should be an easier way than replacing all of the files in the extra solder. Most of them should be the same. I do know it will work if you change all of the files in the extra folder. The receiver will fail at boot If the load file is swapped and not given execute privileges.

Box is still on Image when i got box trio/pro . so i have opened dcc went to lib/modules /4.4.35/extra , I see the files you speak of , Are you saying all I need to do is swap the extra folder with the folder you posted above , you posted the pro drivers which I already had in the image . I do not know how to send the drivers you posted above to the vix image . I have tried using the winrar and 7zip but it wont transfer properly .

Yes. You may swap extra folders. Or you may swap the files in the extra folder. You don't need winrar and 7zip do this. Of course you have to unzip the extra folder that was attached and has the files you want. Other than that, no beed for winrar and 7zip.

Keep in mind if you make a mistake, the box will not boot and you will have to reload the image or use the recovery menu to select another slot.
