Add provider

From "Playlist manager" select GREEN to "Add provider".

Fill in the details of your provider.
If your provider supports M3U and Xtreme codes choose Xtreme codes as the provider type.
Provider Name is any human readable name you choose to give.
Fill in the username, password and url your provider has given you.
Set "Skip VoD" to no.
And "Scheme" is a unique identifier you give this provider. Provider name in lower case would be good.
Then GREEN to "Save".

Video on demand (Movies and TV shows)

Not all providers have VoD. Xtreme codes providers are better for this.

In provider setup make sure "Skip VOD entries" is set to no.

Generate bouquets. This will also initialise VoD.

Now enter the main menu, there is a Video on demand entry. Inside is a choice of movies and TV shows.

There is also a search function to easily find what you are looking for.

Picons (1)

First a word of warning, picons can take a lot of space, for example IPTV.ORG has more than 9000 picons and use well over 300 MB of space. Loading a set of picons that size in the flash is going to cause space problems on most boxes.

Picons (2)

In the "provider edit" screen select "Download picon".

Next time you run regenerate bouquets, picons will be saved to the active picon location and start working immediately.

This happens in the background and you should see no performance hit in the user interface.

If you want to check the currently active picon location (in OpenViX) select a satellite/terrestrial channel with a working picon and then open Menu > About > Service and the last entry shows the location.

If the picon set is large it may be a good idea to move all picons to a usb drive and delete the ones in /picon.

Also, please note picons create symlinks so they are not compatible with FAT32 or any drive format that does not support symlinks.

And lastly, the picons should be located on a fast device, i.e. not a sleeping HDD.

Create bouquets from a playlist that is stored on a local device

If you already have the playlist.m3u file stored locally you can use it just the same as one from a remote URL. Just add the local path in the URL field when adding or editing a provider. For example:
Code:
/tmp/myplaylist.m3u

Entering long URLs

Sometimes the server URL can be long and entering it cumbersome. There are two options to deal with this:

1) Use the virtual keyboard
With the URL highlighted press the TEXT key on the remote. The virtual keyboard will appear and can be used for entering the URL. Once entered, press GREEN to save and return to the config screen.

2) Edit the config file manually.
Create the provider. In the URL field just enter a dummy character. Retrieve the config file from the receiver by FTP. It is located in /etc/enigma2/M3UIPTV/providers.xml. Edit the file on a PC with a text editing tool placing the URL between the CDATA tags. Save the file and send back to the receiver. Restart the receiver so the file gets processed.

Scheduling updates
In the plugin's global settings it is possible to set up automatic updates.

Set Schedule update to Yes.
Set Schedule time of day to the time you want the update to be done.
You can also limit the schedule to just a few days of the week.
Highlight Schedule days of the week and Press OK to access this.

Now the schedule is set up, it needs to be enabled in each provider that you want included in the update.
