[TM-SINGLE] Nothing displayed on tv after flashing

I thought I would update to the latest Apollo image and downloaded it from www.openvix.co.uk.
When through the normal steps of putting it on a USB and plugging it into the front USB port.
Powered on box and saw the message on the screen and pressed OK on the box.
Waited for a few minutes until I got the "Remove USB and restart message" and did so.

However, when I restarted the box was just stuck on the Technomate image.

I read around and saw that I had to update the bootloader.

So back to openvix.co.uk I went and got the latest CFE.

Plugged it in to USB and started box. Got the message and pressed OK.

After a few seconds the box displayed the message that I need to remove the usb and power it off/on.

I did that and since then cannot see anything on the TV.

The green power LED is shown.


I have pressed the EXIT key many times from prior to powering on until 15 seconds have passed.

Anyhelp or is it bricked?

Once you have updated the bootloader try flashing the latest apollo image again.

I tried that but as nothing is displayed on the tv I don't see the message to press the OK button.

I suppose I could try to do it blind.. by that I mean putting the USB in and pressing OK for a few seconds, but don't want to damage it more (if that is even possible )

Been reading around on the web and others have mentioned a loader image which can be flashed using a NULL cable, but in fairness that was for a different model techonomate box.

The correct procedure after flashing a new bootloader is to flash the image, make sure you delete all bootloader files from the stick before loading the image onto it, try unplugging hdmi cable from TV, an plugging it back in after powering box on.

Thanks for the feedback.

Tried the above, but still no luck.

Is there a way to recover these using a COM cable? I've got the control centre but am looking for the .img file to flash the box.

These receivers can not be flashed via the rs232 com port nor are they compatible with the Technomate control centre software as they do not use images in the .img format. Try flashing the bootloader again then power down the receiver and flash the latest image. You can find a flashing tutorial via www.openvix.co.uk.
