I wonder could someone point me to stepwise instructions for setting up a USALS movable dish.
I am trying to configure the second satellite tuner on my Xtrend ET10000 to work with a movable dish. Note that the dish works via USALS from the satellite tuner on my Samsung TV.

I am mainly interested in receiving MSNBC on Telstar 15W

I have done the following:
1.Set the tuner configuration to:

Config mode Simple
Mode Positioner
Longitude 4.4E
Latitude 52.1 N
Extra motor option: No

2. Set the Positioner setup
Goto 15W
GotoX

Says that it is moving to position

I am confused what to do next. Should I then use “Signal finder”, “Manual scan” or “Automatic scan”? I tried using manual scan, but it didn’t seem to find the channel I was looking at on my Samsung TV. How do I restrict/ specify the relevant satellites in Automatic scan?
Help would be appreciated. Many thanks.

I hope you are not using both the TV and receiver connected to the motorised dish. Only one can control the motor.

Simplest thing to do is to install a channel list from the plugins menu. They are called settings. Try Vhannibal's motorised version. Check that you can receive channels on several satellites.

The motorised dish is indeed only connected to the tuner on the ET10000.

I had previously connected this tuner to a switched multi lsb (Astra1,Hotbird, Astra2 and Astra3). The other satellite tuner on the ET10000 is still connected to this. Should use "Go to X" and move the dish to one of these 4 satellites and then do a manual scan on a transponder that has a working channel?
How do I do then do an automatic scan on a limited set of satellites. When I try to do an automatic scan it includes all satellites, even invisible ones.

As I said, easier to transfer a list, never mind.

Tuner configuration
In your tuner configuration, change from "Positioner" to "Positioner (slecting satellites)".
Press OK, a new window will open up, select the visible/required satellites only. This will cure the invisible satellite issue you mentioned.

Scanning
Go to manual scan,
Tuner: ensure the highligted tuner is the motorised one.
Type of scan: Chnage to Multisat
Deafult is for all sats to be disabled. Enable the ones you want to scan.
Press OK to start.

Very many thanks for this info abu baniaz. I'll try it tomorrow.

The reason I am a bit wary of the Vhannibal settings plugin is that I tried loading it a few weeks ago and for some reason it messed up the satellites.xml file that I am using for the other tuner.

Any channel lists you install from plugins feeds are run through Huevos's script to ensure that they use the same position numbers as the xml file used by OE-A images. Even then, he has chanegd his xml to use the same position numbers as we do.

Many thanks. I've got the movable dish now set up on Tuner D and my Disecq Astra1,2,3 + Hotbird set up in Tuner B. I've just one other question. How do you define parameters for a new transponder when doing a manual scan?
