Hello, I am a newby - I bought this from World-of-Satellite yesterday.

and have spent hrs on setup and have got it to see the dual LNB (19.2 & Hotbird). I have done a scan and have a jumbles mess of channels. So...

1) Is there an editor that will work with this box (Amiko Viper) - I tried Dreambox editor - FTA connection OK Password OK - then error messages

2) is there a way to scan FTA channels only ? - I have seen no mention of FTA in any menu.

Is there a trick I am missing - It puts most of the Encrypted channels near the top.

Are there settings I can download ? All FTA German channels together - French together - Polish together etc. ?

With ABM yes - assuming you are in expert mode, you can select providers, sequence and block
SO you can accept FTA only and order
 
Dreamset, Dresmboxedit, Echannelizer will allow you to create your bouquet/s in the order you want. You need to investigate the error you are getting.

There is an FTA option during scanning within Enigma2. You need to be in the appropriate scanning method.

Best you read the OpenViX manual. It is a few years old, but basics are still valid.

I have now found the FTA option in the Providers options (Earlier attempts did not see "Provider options" as not all Providers have options).

Regarding the error - I see this......

Dreambox response: Login successful.
** Retrieving file list of "/var/tuxbox/config/enigma/" **

Neither a "services" nor a "lamedb" file was found in directory "%" on the Dreambox. /var/tuxbox/config/enigma/
Check the dream path settings on the option panel to point to the correct Dreambox directories and try again.

Update - Echannelizer now working. Dreamboxedit still has the same error.

BTW the problem with Echannelizer was .... You setup the conection - Name & IP address etc but it doesnot use the settings you just made until you select the device (name) from a dropdown > top right .

I find that the Autoboquetmaker still includes Encrypted channels like RTL HD (possibly unencrypted sometimes). Therefore I am going to have to sort the channels myself.

I could upload my settings if that would be of use to anyone.

I think you have configured DBEdit to use Enigma instead of Enigma2.
I have looked but can't find a selection for Enigma or Enigma2

I have not configured any file paths in the setup
The top one there currently says ....../var/tuxbox/config/enigma/

I was doing as it happens. I did switch off updates - does this not stop overwrite ?
 
Good news - I set the Dreambox options to the same as yours and It works.

Now I can edit - Is there a good location where ready made listings can be downloaded (for 19.2 & Hotbird) ?
 
Editable scans

I have tried 3 editors without success. The only one I can get to work is Echannelizer.

I have factory reset my (new) receiver 20 times hoping that I have missed a setting for FTA (only found for Providers, not a global scan). It puts all services found in a folder Last scanned.

I have tried for Hrs to get them into the general services listing window on the left (always empty) where I can edit order and delete most. Instead "Last scanned" list in the Favourites centre column when opened.


How do I get a editable scan with all services together - Not Favorites, Not in a boquet ?

E2 works with Bouquets.
Not sure what you are trying to achieve but with Echannelizer you can delete, add, import and if you want merge all bouquets into one big bouquet.
So you can do a tuner sat scan specifying FTA only - then you could with Echannelizer create a bouquet with the services you want - slow but possible

The FTA flag is not going to work properly for you because it involves selecting and checking the service. There is a file that gets written to the tmp directory and is read afterwards. I think flag is also written to lamedb but gets lost on a scan. You will have to manually create your bouquets.

Without being rude, I think you are doing something wrong with the bouquet editors.

I don't like E-channelizer, it is geared to be modern/fancy/bling and forgets the rudimentary and core function of channel editors. I would suggests you spend your time reading up on DreamBoxEdit or Dreamset.
