Solo 2, Balun's and Magic Eye's and Tri - Link - What could possibly go wrong?

Currently I a Sly HD box which feeds (via 2:4 matrix) the lounge TV an the TV in the master bedroom via a balun (HDMI over 2xCat5e), I control it via an IO Box/RG6 feed and magic eye, RG6 is not used for video, just control. I'm looking to do something similar with my Solo 2 now, Tri-Link's seem like the obvious option, i'd not bother with the scart connection and literally just use it as a magic eye bridge, I don't mind mounting the IR sensors as the box is out of sight anyway, before I order has anyone done something similar and does the system work with the Vu's? AFAIK they use standard IRDA but figured it was worth an ask before I ordered.

Based on what i've read elsewhere the CEC type adapters aren't an option (Balun's can cause issues with CEC pass through according to some sellers), so i've bitten the bullet and ordered a Tri-Link and spare remote. I'll report back, but it looks like the easiest way to achieve what i'm trying to without paying silly money.

Well that was harder than it needed to be. I ordered from Amazon but sadly they didn't have the IRDA repeater cable from the Tri-Link to the box included, a replacement arrived today that did, and the good news is it works as expected. I now have HDMI feeds to the bedroom and full control via RG6.
