solo2 cooling fan

Hi All,

merry Christmas.

Does anyone know where to purchase a new cpu fan for my dads solo2.
It's started too make a noise and the fear is if it fails it will fry the cpu.
I would like to purchase from the U/K rather than waiting 20 years for delivery from China etc.

difference is the one in the solo2 is only 2 wires this appears to have 3.

unless you want to be messing source a 3 pin to 2 pin adaptor.

Many UK suppliers of fans on Ebay and elsewhere

The fan will be one of the standard sizes and on the label of the existing fan there should be a voltage and speed specification.

are you sure it's 30mm that seems rather small i would have thought it more a 40mm if it is 40mm this is one of the best you can get

just measured the fan size and it was 30mm matey. will double check though to be sure

that's a shame it being 30mm you would have had more choice if it had been 40mm just checked my Duo2 & LX3 and they are both 40mm are you measuring it right as it should be the space between the screws

just measured it again. i'm measuring from one side to the other and it's defo 30mm.

just taken the fan off from the mobo and the connection on the motherboard has 3 pins. Does this mean that the one from maplins will work?

If that fan is fixed to CPU heat sink you have counterfeit clone!
