Vu+ duo beginners questions

Hi,

I'm thinking of getting a Vu+ duo box to replace my sky+ box and have a few queries.

1) What does the standard EPG look like with ViX firmware? If someone post a screenshot that would be great.

2) What does the recording menu look like? By this I mean if I record a number of programmes does it list the programme name in the recordings or does it just list the channel recorded and time? Again if anyone can post a screenshot that would be great?

3) I have a Logitech harmony remote - I believe that this will work with the vu+ duo but it would be great if someone can confirm

4) I currently have a magic eye that I use with my sky box to control it as the box is in a cupboard. Does a omni link do the same thing? (I just want it to be able to control the box in the cupboard, I'm not interested in having the ability to watch in another room)

5) I believe that there is some form of on demand through alliance on demand? How well does this work, and which channels does it have?

for the epg guide it will look something like this exept this one has a skin but its the same layout as astanderd...

and when u whant to record something u just highlight what u want to record and it will change colour and show a record icon ..
its the sae on the standard skin....

I think the default epg guide is black...

don't know about magic eye but if u have a android phone or iphone u can use that to control your box

Thanks for the quick response.

I see that your screenshot has documentaries so I presume that you can select my category of channels? E.g kids, entertainment etc?

In terms of recordings I mean what it looks like when you view your list of recordings? Ie can you easily see what programmes you have recorded in a list or does it just show the channel name and time/date of recording?

heres a pic of recordings screen default skin is very similer...


as for the channels when u scan channels then u can create your own folder and name it what u want ie kids and put all the kids programs u want in to it,,,

OnDemand has RTEPlayer, 3 player, bbc iplayer, ABC iView and itv player. Works well except you cannot fast forward or skip on VIX.

@pheonix are you using the hold-number skip or the fast forward, rewind buttons? Neither have ever worked for me on Vix. Used to work fine for me on Black Hole.
