Cross EPG stuck on starting downloader on ViX2.3

Hi m8s,
Can't seem to get the cross epg downloader to work. It seems to be stuck on "Starting downloader" and then disappears.

I had set it up on ViX2.2 and used to work fine. How do I set it up for ViX2.3?

Btw, when I go to Menu>>Setup>>System>>EPG, I see "Setings", "Load/Save", "CrossEPG" and "XMLTV-Importer"

Question 1 : What's the difference between CrossEPG and XMLTV-Importer ? I presume these are two different plugins that can do the same thing? Which is better?

Question 2 : If I want to use CrossEPG, I see many different providers. What are these providers, are they all different sources of same EPG information? Which provider should I use for Sly UK channels? I tried using XMLTV Provider (Rytec's providers) and OpenTV providers on Astra 28.2 and tried "Download Now" as well as "Scheduled Download" but it gets stuck at "Starting Downloader" which disappears quickly and the EPG doesn't updated. I had exactly the same settings on Vix2.2 and it used to work. What am I doing wrong?

In EPG > Settings, have you setup the storage path to USB or HDD?

Is Crossepg settings have you updated the providers? Please post what you have setup so far.

Its set on usb. Below is a snapshot of the settings.
Which providers do I need to update ? rytec? I did that already and got a message "28 providers updated"

That screen looks ok, not going to crossepg settings and setup some sources. Opentv for 28.2 is great the UK.

You will need to 'check' the providers you want to download. I don't have the OpenTV ones checked just the UK ones further down the list. Save your settings and do a 'manual' download. Reboot after and everything should be working.

done that...and when I click "Download Now" it shows "Starting downloader"...then "Starting importer" and is stuck there...
in fact I can't cancel it either...it has to be done via web interface restart of engima2.

Did a reflash after removing backup/crossepg folders on HDD and removing the USB flash drive...seems to have resolved and CrossEPG works fine now.

Btw, the XMLTVImporter allows you to say how many days worth of EPG to download...didn't see that option in CrossEPG configurations...any clues ??

CEPG is direct from the sat so are limited to the days provided, which is sa rolling seven day epg.

The xmltv might allow you to specify more than 7 days but in reality its normally only 7 dYs
