ViX 2.3 (Linux 3.1.1) - Timer Recordings Not Working Properly

There is nothing to update using the keysequence you mentioned. There is just a backup image on my hd that is avaible.
Under information I can see that the date for the last update 18/11 2011 Ver 2.3
I updated the bootloader some days ago using usb.
Where was it I could check if that update went ok?

There is nothing to update by this process it allows you to download the full image directly to the box so that you can use it to flash the box via a usb stick. this is just another way for us to host the images so you can grab it right from the box if you dont have time to come onto the forum and look through the release threads.

if you want to update the box go to blue button > ViX > software update. The latest set of updates will take the image to version 161, with the newest drivers from Vu correcting some recording problems amongst other things.

To check the version your currently running press menu then there will be a heading for information ( i think its that but not sure as i'm at work and not near my box )

Thanks for the info Rob

I hadnt changed anything on the HDMI CHEC plug in - yes I know thats where the settings are changed. I just wondered if the fact that it was working (and then suddenly wasnt working) migh indicate some other problem (? corruption) causing an issue (which migh subsequently affect recordings). I am honestly not that bothered about the vol control but obv need the recordings to work. Didnt want to waste time tinkering with vol controls if real issue is more sig.

Do you think I need to reflash to try and sort this out - is there anything else I can try? I wondered whether there might be a hd issue (but would assume that migh cause other issues eg on playback other files which seem ok). Is is worth starting a HD check - though note the warnings re time to do (how long to check a 1Tb disk?)

Dont know if this is relevant but just upgraded cccam to 2.3 and now seems to be recording ok - any chance this could have been the issue??

Played around with hdmi settings and now can control volume - only thing is now every channel the default audio is the narrative audio - I can reset for each channel but is there a global setting for this anywhere?

Yeh go to menu/setup/system/auto language selection and set labguage choice at top to english, prefer ac3 to yes and finally set no to prefer audio stream stored by service

An update of the plugin might need new settings

Doesn't sound like a HDD problem.
Sure your tunersettings are OK? Try Satfinder on all satellites on all tuners to make sure they're OK. Also set recordings to have priority (as is the default)? Couldn't think of anything else, so might do a reflash as a last resort. Don't restore settings: just a virgin image and see if the problems persist. If not, use backupmanager to restore settings and check again.

Thanks for help guys

Just back from NYD walk and timer recording seems to have worked now. Not sure if it really was the cccam update that did it but seems to be ok now. The channels are def all viewable so dont think it was down to that.

Fingers crossed - esp for me as family about to lynch me if it goes wrong again!

afraid same thing has happened again - wouldnt you know it the darned thing stopped recording 15 mins thru the concert my wife wanted recording tonight. But it had recorded everything else ok thru the day

I am going to reflash in the morning unless anyone has any other bright ideas?

Then leave the country before wifey finds her 15min recording!

Have the same timer recording problem. Btw all is updated on my duo.
Maybe this is smhw linked with new webif?

perhaps - have you tried reflashing yet? Bit reluctant to waste more time on this if it doesnt help.

I think the new webif is installed as an add on (ie not automatically?)

Yeah my recordings are playing up again now after the last online update. I seemed to have cured the problem
after manually installing the new drivers. I might flash back to last backup before update.

Vu have today released a new set of drivers to fix recording problems, try those

Where did you get version 2.3, and do you know how it differs from older versions?

dont forget to reboot the receiver after transferring the drivers.

yep got that thanks

set it to tape a couple of things and proceeding fine so far

do you know what the issue was/is - I guess because it was an intermittent thing (and ? not creating error log) it must have been tricky to debug

never any prev issues recording and only seems to have happened since the Xmas eve updates....

I installed these drivers on to build 153 as I reverted back after my recordings started to fail again. if I online update to build 161 will I have to reinstall todays drivers or is there a new build coming with these drivers built in ?
