No Display after bootloader update

please do not post live links on the forum, as for the first post you referenced on SU that was shear user error by removing the stick mid flash something that should never be done. the second link on Su and the link to alsat, could be any thing as the users do not give any information as to how it happened etc.

so far we know that yours happened while flashing the bootloader so we can be sure that it's a bootloader problem the others are just guess work except for the guy who pulled the stick mid flash.

no worries mate, we'll keep looking and if we do come across any thing that could help you we will let you know.

I still havn't got my box running if anyone has any ideas ... Still just a red LED light and no display

Cheers Thanks a to all that have tried to help
Try this using a serial cable

Switch the box off, on the rear side.
choose in putty for serial connect, speed must be set to 115200 and choose you`re comport.
Put the box on, when you`re connection is oke, you wil see some text scrolling over the putty screen.
Now use the ctrl + c key to stop the booting.
copy the following line in the screen:

boot -z -elf flash0.kernel: 'rootfstype=jffs2 root=/dev/mtdblock0 rw mem=0x8000000 bcmrac=3`

The box now reboot from the flash, so watch you`re box.
Then telnet to the box and put in the following line.

flash_eraseall /dev/mtd5

and after that the following line

reboot -f

Then you`re box is running again.

if its a bootloader fail mate looked like its a expensive door stop now

btw is it snowing in yr house

I had found a solution, it happens twice for me today. Try to set the Vu+ uno to "deep standby" and then power it back with your remote control. The LED will light again
(menu -> BH shutdown -> set sleeptimer -> done)

it should work...doesn't matter which image you use (BH or Vuplus.com the orginal)

Yes I know, but try to "simulate" it. Set Vu+ in deep sleep and then wake it back, it is the trick. Please try it twice before you give up. It works for me during my reflash, by using this trick the display works/light again.

ukdirtyboy, any luck?

I'm just getting the same problem. After bootloader no more display and nothing will boot up.

Anyone else?

Yes.

Yesterday I flashed my box with the New bootloader.
After that the VUplus Duo went dead.
No Starting.. and no living USB. Only the Red Led in the upper left corner of the Display.
Serial connection only gives:

BCM73350010
012
Shmoo Version=1.9

MEMC-00000000 RW=00000012 WW=00000047 G=00000001 R=00000009 W=00000015
MEMC-00000001 RW=00000010 WW=00000053 G=00000001 R=00000009 W=00000005 #$3
COPY CODE
A567

Conclusion, The Bootloader is not starting.

So no USB access to flash again.

An no solution to fix this problem (Yet).

Googling the Internet tells me that this happens to much.
Why is there no CRC checking when flashing a Bootloader?
Then this Problem wouldn't exists.

Are you sure that you have a genuine Duo?
