I hope i am not duplicating a post but cant see what I thought Id posted. Media Player plugin installed (build 190) but not showing at the top in main menu, can I get it back there ?

Hi there,

It doesn't appear in the menu anymore since the latest release. If you open up the filelist you can simply play your media from here.

Cheers,
Mac

Hi Mac not sure how you mean open the file list, I can access the hdd from media player, cant see the files elsewhere

Rob and Mac thanks for clarification, finally found the manual and decription of button 15 on page 12. Presumed the manual was basically redundant since the advent of VIX. Cheers
rgds.

can some one please explain what the difference is with the file list button and the play list button, while reading lots of theads i know there is a built in player for media files but i think i have cocked up as im sure when i did my new install when i pressed the play list button it says there is no media player plugin installed so i then installed a media player which i assumed was the built in one, so if i have cocked up and loaded a media player that is buggy does this mean the play list button is redundent ? if so i will remove it from my remote to save complications, at the moment i use the file list button to play recorded files and the play list for my nas box.

As you are in a VU+ DUO thread I presume you have a DUO as well.
The DUO has no 'Playlist'-button, so there can't be any misunderstanding there.
The filelist-button brings up the pre-defined list of recordings, which can be selected (using the navigation buttons) and played (via the 'OK' button). There's no need for any plugin to be installed for the playback of recordings, video-files, DVD's, DVD-ISO-files, photo's or MP3's.

Since you do talk about a 'Playlist'-button, I presume you have an ET. If so: just don't use that button. For the rest the above also applies to the ET's.

thanks for clearing that up i will remove the button off my remote

thanks Paul
