If I flash this image can I restore my backup taken on 2.3 to restore all settings etc?

no. you can manually backup your config files and timers / auto timers files but dont try to restore a settings backup as it will cause you problems.

Damn it, flashed the new image, restored settings, and it hangs like a bitch. Spinning VIX in corner every minute or so. Worse even than the hanging I get with 204??

DO NOT RESTORE SETTINGS.
it says this clearly in the first post.
This is a new image and must be setup from scratch.
No you cannot restore settings from 204 you must clean flash and manually setup

Have to say a massive thanks to all who put effort into this image, looks really good a big step up in the user interface compared to any other image I've tried before. The xbmc skin is nice too, especially the guide part. Great work :thumbsup:

How do i auto resize picons?
Just to add to what Pheonix said, the reason that Vu have to sort this out is because it is closed source compiled code. Once code is compiled, if there is no uncompiled version released with it, it is not possible to read, fault find or amend that code.

The picon sizes change when you press ok so is their a way to autoresize them?

SlimChannelSelection:
The title seems doubled with a bit offset. I guess you dont need to code the Title-widget when using the panel name="MenuPanel" which include title in itselfe.
IMDB:
The starsbar is displaying wrong numbers of stars. I guess you have to change size of <widget name="starsbg" and <widget name="stars" from "240,21" to "210,21".
