[ET9x00] New VIX Image ET 9x00 Series Version 2.4 15/05/2012 - DISCUSSION ONLY -

evidently u didn't. not on the clarke tech et-9000 at least.

You really think that over the thousands of hours during the last 4 months the whole dev team did not notice a problem with using both tuners and didnt test on the ET9000,

Incidentally you are the only one who has reported this which suggests that something is wrong in your setup. What plugins do you have installed.
As we are not mind readers we need to see your crash logs which should be in /media/hdd/logs you can also send them to us automatically by using menu>setup>system>logs

And a bit less of the bad attitude would be nice

Ok i've already said that i've installed NO plugins or anything, i'm gettin' those errors from CLEAN install of 2.4; i'm not having a bad attitude, you not even reading what im writing (looks evident from your questions) but u act like the bugs i am reporting are in fact not bugs but faults of mine and that's upsettin'me; i've detailed explained what happened, and with a bit of logical it is clear that, logs or not, those issues depends from the firmware release 2.4, since i never had a single problem with 2.3, and unless u think that my decoder it's an alien device cloaked as an et9000 i have to "really think" that they haven't tested that release on a et9000 but probably only on 9200 or something else, then, if u don't want me to write on this forum to discuss those bugs, we can just say that vix 2.4 is PERFECT and close that thread since u already got a thanks (for nothing) from "mcquaim" and i will add mine just for the sarcasm.

Look, you can bitch and moan all day but if you don't send on the logs as requested several times how can anyone help you...

And yes, the latest release was tested on all the receivers that Vix supports so strange that you are the first to raise this! That is not saying that it is not a bug though but without a log this can't be confirmed.

The thing is that none of the team with this receiver have been able to replicate your problem, which is why we say it is vitally important that you give us crash logs where you have them and debug logs wherever possible. Unless we can see what's causing your problems we can't possibly fix them.

Now as for testing the image on the ET9000 at last count there were I believe around 8 team members with this receiver so yes it has been tested but none of the team have this problem your suffering.

Very nice image, thank you guys.

I have three question, I will appreciate if anyone could be of assistance:

1. I can't seem to be able to map my et9x00 hard drive on my computer. I use to be able to do this easily when on 2.3 images. Is there any option that I need to enable to be able to map the drive. Same goes for the flash storage on the box, I mapped this on my pc on 2.3.

2. On 2.3 image I can just click on channels to preview it without the channel going to full screen mode and I will then flip through different channel in this preview mode without the channels going full screen, pressing the OK button will then make the channels to enter full screen mode. The setting use to be in setup>>system>>customize on 2.3 image. Is there any other way to enable this setting?

3. Thirdly, my et9200 remote control use to control my my box, Samsung tv and Samsung home cinema simultaneously on 2.3. For example, pressing the power button on et9200 remote control will switch the three system on/off at the same time and the et9200 will also control the volume on the home cinema system. This seem broken now with 2.4 images and the et9200 remote control won't operate the home cinema system anymore. It only works with the box and the tv. Has anyone experience this scenario? Is there any possible way to get this working with the lastest image?

Cheers

1. menu> setup> system> network> samba setup> yes.

2. channel up or down > menu> settings> channel list preview = yes > green to save.

3. menu> setup> system> HDMI CEC > enabled = yes > green to save.

Many thanks mate, really appreciate your input, all works fine now

Cheers

ok i finally understood what was happening to my et9000 and vix 2.4, when i moved my decoder from a room to another the plug of sat cable got damaged and was, in fact, disconnected from my lnb. So, if second tuner have its sat cable disconnected and u try to record with it (or to stream with openwebif), enigma2 crash, this bug should be easy to replicate, anyway i sent the crashlog.

I have 3 quick questions now:
1- is it possibile to use an additional dvb-s2 usb tuner?
2- is there a working webbrowser plugin for et9x00? (i tried to install et-webbrowser but after installation i cannot find it anywhere in the menu)
3- How can i install bootlogos? i tried to use plugin but all i get is remove vix bootlogo, now when i boot i got a black screen (but everything works fine)

If a feed is not connected, you will not get a crash. The recording will be made, but (of course) will be only 0kb.

As to your question 2:
The browser is there: short blue --> Web Browser --> then Menu.
But tbh: I don't see much purpose for that; it is mainly there for the HbbTV function

Hi

Create a new thread describing the issues you have and upload the logs there, also try to provide as much detail as you can about how to replicate the issues.

After 2.4 update the audio sync is not good. I had no problems with the earlier v2.3, default settings always perfect sync.
Using an Xtrend ET9000. Any updates planned for taking care of this?

Is this the same on all channels? Did you try to get sync correct?

please provide more information such as on what channels does this happen ? FTA or premium etc etc etc.

for the record i have not noticed any audio sync problems on any of my Vu receivers.

i just posted about audio is low
Well, first of all, if you want to point us to another posting, please provide a link. Now you leave it to us to search for it.
But more important: what does 'low-audio' have to do with this topic? And why don't you answer the questions of those who are willing to help you?

I have the audio problem on all channels, both SD and HD channels. I have not activated permanent timeshift (which made the audio go out of sync before also). In the audio sync settings I have not "0" settings, there is several of the lines with different numbers. I have not been there and made any changes. Should I adjust thoose settings to "0" and test again?

Well, if you encounter sync-problems, that's the place to be. Or start with those values all set to zero, and see if the general delay (in A/V-settings) will do the trick.

Be aware that audio-syncproblems can originate from two sources:
1- (some) channels can have a sync-problem. If so, the correction values are likely to be different for all those channels;
2- depending on the TV and the resolution-settings of the box, it is possible that the TV-picture is 'behind' audio, due to all the hard work that has to be done by the TV. If this is the case, the out-of-sync value is likely to be the same for all channels (or at least for channels that do not suffer from point 1).
