I have replaced my Hitachi plasma TV with a LED TV from LG and when watching TV the picture looks fine. But when playing recordings, the picture often hangs for milliseconds. I never had this with my old TV, is there some configuration I am missing or?

not, totally sure but it maybe just LED technology, i for one say away from it, uless you are buying the top end LED TV, the cheaper one imo are crap.

Hmmm, could you enlighten us a bit more on that? How could backgroundlight be responsible for that? Especially as on the cheaper models the LED burn uninterrupted.

well all low/medium cost LED tv and monitors i have seen have been pure s**t, would not touch any with a barge pole. i remember once Sicilian and i both purchased a 24" BenQ LED monitor and we both sent them back, for a start While was not white, it had a hint of blue (like cool colour, even then manufacture told us this was just LED tech) 2nd LED response time is shocking on low spec tv/monitors, i have to admit it has been over year since i even looked at low cost LED tv/Monitor.

but this been said High End is a different matter, i have just purchased 27" Apple LED monitor cost me almost a £1,000 and is the dogs ********, this why i started my post "not, totally sure but......."

andy.

Sorry to say, but I have no clue what you mean by 'LED response time' as the LED don't response at all; they are constantly providing light, just the same as the previous fluorescent lightning did.
And it's the LCD's that make the colours, not the LED's.
Technology is just the same as before, only the backlight has changed.

Ok, it might be the TV but shouldn't I also experience this problem when just watching the TV too? And not only when watching recordings?
