I have installed the various builds whenever they have become available, the latest being today with 416.

I have noticed that the Menu>Information>About page has not updated since build 405. It reports the last update was on 07/11/2012 and continues to display current build as 405.

The builds do seem to be installing in the usual way (using online update) and the image DOES seem to have been updating because I now have the new PowerTimers within the Timers menu.

I have the box set to make an image backup as part of the upgrade process and all image backups made since 7-11-2012 are showing as 3.0.405

Bit of a pain because I always like to go and check what image I am currently on before carrying out any updates and of course it is confusing if I need to reinstall from an image backup.

Anyone else experience this?

Thanks chaps.

Updating fine here, currently showing Build 416.
Are you sure your box is actually updating?

Thanks for the prompts replies - appreciate it guys :)

Phoenix - thanks for confirming it should still be working fine.

Trial - the only things that make me think that it IS updating is that I now have the new PowerTimers sub-menu, and when I updated to 415 I got that boot loop that was fixed in 416.

Is there anywhere else I can go check to see if it is updated?

Sounds like something has gone adrift and I may need to download the latest build image and reflash?

Thanks once again for the help - it is appreciated.

Try a telnet session update.

start a telnet session then use the following command

init 4 && opkg update && opkg upgrade && init 6

when the update is complete the box will reboot and you can check the info page again to see if it has updated properly.

Hi Phoenix

I did try this a few days ago but ran that command again just now. Here is the output:

Sadly, the info page has still not updated.

Any other suggestions before a reflash?

Cheers for your help mate.

Thanks Phoenix

Got that downloading now so will give it a go and I am sure that will sort my little glitch out.

Will update when I have reflashed.

Cheers

Success! Downloaded build 413 and then updated to 416. Restored from todays backup and Menu>Information>About now shows the correct build.

Bad news is that plugins I have previously installed have not been restored. An irritation rather than a big deal.

I am still liking the current path that VIX are taking though.

Cheers

Hmmm, are you sure you allowed the restore to do so?

Hi Rob

Yes I did allow the restore to do so.

I thought the biggest pain was going to be setting up Airplayer again, but happily, having reinstalled the plugin, my old settings have been saved.

The only other thing that I have found that was not restored was Picons which I store in flash, though my VFD picons that are also stored in the flash were restored correctly.

Cheers

Picons are either a plugin (and should be restored as such) or a manual created folder.
If the latter is the case you can add the folder to the settings backup.

The most likely explanation for not restoring your plugins is a non functional internet connection during the restore.

Hi Rob

It probably makes sense about the picons/vfd picons because vfd picons were originally installed as a plugin and picons were manually installed.

Can you point me in the right direction to add folders to the settings backup?

Thanks for helping me out.

Menu --> Setup --> System --> ViX --> Backup Manager --> Menu
There you have the option to choose files & folder via the yellow button. Don't forget to save on leaving.

Thanks for the pointer Rob - all sorted.
