been lots of changes since build 562, update to 649 & all will be fine...

Has anyone tried using ABM this evening.

Expert mode with HD Swap on London HD and BBC 1 BBC2 ITV3 are all SD and not HD.

I have used the updated skyuk.xml dated 26th March.

Build 649

Any ideas?

Just tested ABM with various providers including London HD and the HD swap is working fine on them all.

Spill the beans. Someone else is bound to make it again.

Will serve well as a gentle reminder.

Was looking in the entertainment section rather than the all channels which contain the swapped SD > HD channels :-/

Ok, I have ABM that was pre-installed on with the OpenVIX image I installed on my Vu+ Solo2.

Basically I want just two channels that are not part of the UK bouquets, namely Setanta Ireland and Setanta Sports1.

I know with ABM, I can add the Irish provider and then hide all the bouquets apart from the Irish version of the Sports bouquet.
I then get the channels I want, however it means at a minimum, I have to have the whole Irish version of the Sports Bouquet (which is mostly a duplication of the UK Sports Bouquet) just to get the 2 channels I want which seems a bit over-kill and it means I still cant access the channels that are normally sat nicely on channels 423 and 424 in the UK Sports Bouquet!

Previously, I was using Lrazier's AutoBouquets which has support for the supplement.txt file where-by you can specify additional non-standard channels to be included, the format would be something like this:

Code:
# sky channel number[HEX????]:epg id[DEC????]:service type[HEX??]:service id[HEX????]:transponder id[HEX????]:namespace[11a0000]:provider[BSkyB/BskyB]:encryption[FTA/NDS]:channel name[STRING]
01a7:XXX:01:c7a7:96c:11a0000:BSkyB:NDS:Setanta Ireland
01a8:XXX:01:c7a8:96c:11a0000:BSkyB:NDS:Setanta Sports1

NOTE: I figured everything out in the above example apart from the EPG Channel ID (denoted by XXX) because I couldn't find that information anywhere on the net :-(

So would it be possible to modify the ABM code to branch out and pull in some custom channels using the suppliment.txt idea that Lrazier implemented if one chooses to add the file to the ABM folder?

As the numbering is pulled direct from the stream, not sure if it is possiable.

What i do is just add them manually to the sports bouquet.

Its possible because Lrazier's version does it, when the code is building the bouquets, it simply checks for the existence of any data in Supplement.txt and propagates those channels in.

The core code of Enigma 2 basically ignores any numbering embedded in the bouquets and simply auto numbers the channels.

So if you look at the main bouquet, every time you see:

Code:
#SERVICE 1:832:d:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:
#DESCRIPTION

That's basically a dummy channel causing Enigma to increment the channel count by 1.

The numbering scheme is made up from the number of channels in the main bouquet (including all those dummy channels), so as long as the Setanta channels were added to the Main bouquet in position 423 & 424, they will turn up as planed just like the rest.

In the absence of support for Supplement.txt in ABM, I'm doing the same as you, manually dropping in the Setanta channels:

Code:
#SERVICE 1:0:1:c7a7:96c:2:11a0000:0:0:0:
#SERVICE 1:0:1:c7a8:96c:2:11a0000:0:0:0:

....but of-course auto scheduling ABM keeps over-writting them, so at the moment, I have backed off my schedule to 30 days so at least I only need to remember to add the channels back in once a month, hehe.

maybe create a new bouquet called Irish Sports or whatever, run the Irish scan once & copy the channels you want to it.
then set up ABM the way you want & it won't overwrite your custom bouquet...

I asked for the same back at post #251 but it was never taken on board. I saw another post suggesting that the coders wanted to keep the script as simple as possible in response to other additional feature requests, so I never pushed my request any further. Hopefully this request will be implemented one day.

Can I ask why you've moved away from the LraiZer script? I find it works perfectly for my needs.

All of the source files for ABM are in the GIT if you want to modify it for your own needs.

in fact here you go, these are all the files for ABM from the GIT.

Hmmm. BBC basic, I can handle, and even a little bit of C. But I've got a feeling that I've been left behind a little bit on the coding front!

To be very clear, I'm not complaining, and I'm very grateful for what everyone does in support of this project in their own spare time. All I try to do is provide positive and constructive feedback.

No im not saying your complaining but with all our plugins the source files are there for users to adapt for their own needs.

I didn't move away from the LraiZier intentionally, I was using it as a manually installed plugin on older images on older Enigma 2 STB's.
I think AutoBouquets and CrossEPG are the most significant addon's ever to created for Enigma 2.
I bought a brand new Vu+ Solo2 as a long awaited upgrade and I found the OpenVIX image to be fantastic, containing everything I need and stable right from the get go.
AutoBouquetMaker is of-course pre-installed and to be honest, I thought ABM was AutoBouquets, just bundled into OpenVIX.

I could consider installing LraiZer's script instead, but generally I like to keep my boxes as lean and as standard as possible.
If I continue to use OpenVIX going forward (and I see no reason not to), I don't really want to go down the road of having to remove and install similar plugins as part of an firmware upgrade if I can help it.

ABM is petty much perfect for me (as was AutoBouquets), being able to support Supplement.txt in ABM is literally the only improvement suggestion I can think of!

I'm the same and I don't want anyone involved with ABM to take our suggestions as any form of criticism what-so-ever!

I'm looking at the Python source and I would imagine a file check routine for a file similar to supplement.txt and inclusion of its contents would need to go in bouquetswriter.py around line 164 but unfortunately, I too am out of my depth when it comes to writing the code.
I suspect what might take me forever to figure out, would take the guy(s) that wrote this script minutes to procure :-)

Im using the Vix ABM, I ran the Irish channels on abm to get Setanta channels, then using Dreambox edit imported them into the sports section.

My question is if i run a rescan to update the channels will it remove my Setanta ?
I also removed all the hidden channel sections using dreambox, will rescan put them all back ?

OK did rescan and oh dear yes it completely overwrites everything puts back hidden channels and moves setanta out of sports... ah well

Use lraizer autobouquet it puts setanta in the sports section by default.
