New box set up guide

This is amazing, just when i was becoming a bit overwhelmed i found this, its amazing for a newb like me.

Glad it helps, it was written specifically with the newbie in mind and a big thanks to josh for keeping it updated when i didnt have the time to do it my self.

Thanks m8 messed it first time and thanks too this tut all sorted out now as this is my first twin tuner

I have a solo2 running BH 2.0.2 rev E at the moment and would like to try out the latest vix image which I have already downloaded.
Do I have to flash the bootloader first or can go straight to flashing the vix image .
Do I transfere the solo folder to a usb key or put the file into root of the usb.

Thanks for any help given.

No need to flash a bootloader, just flash the image.
Get the latest one available from http://openvix.co.uk, extract it to the root of a usb stick, put the usb stick in the box & press the touch sensitive button when prompted to do so.

Just make sure you use the correct image for your machine as the solo and solo2 are very different machines, other than that its a very easy process to flash these boxes.

if you follow this tutorial to flash your receiver you should be fine.

Hi guys I have just got my Tm-T2 with pre installed vix 3.0 from wos i currently have a spiderbox 9900hd motorised system (h to h motor on a 1.2 meter dish) im having trouble setting it up for multi sat your tutorial sets the receiver on tuner a for single sat i need mine for motorised and cannot seam to get my dish to move i managed to download and send a multi sat channel list to my reciever but when i select a channel on 28e my dish does not move, when i removed my old receiver my dish was pointing at 13e and thats all i can get I have searched the forums but cannot find any info on what to do and what i have missed i tried putting in lat/long but still no joy can any one help please

Thanks. Had BH installed but HD channels with high SR didn't work. Found that the CI CAM was to blame. So softcam was the answer. But Softcam and BH was a no no.
So now I'm running wix with CCcam configured according to this post, and everything works.

 Came accross this thread, whilst sufing several other forums. This is and must be the M*** N***, superb and in plain English. I am yet to buy a VU+ Solo2 but when I do this tutorial will be of great help. Am about to take the plunge into the real world of Sat TV.

Thank you again,

p :)

ps: is it will it be ok for me to copy and keep??

Thank you.

It took me a long time to get the wording just rite for this tutorial so that it would be suitable for novices and more advanced users alike, im sure the same is true for the amendments and additions made by josh.

Im currently in the process of updating my original work that this version is based on for the latest ViX images, when that is competed I will post it up.

Presume you are talking about trying to install a plugin?
If so, which one? and maybe open a new thread rather than take this thread off topic.

no as its about the first post loading cams and newcamd is when i get the error.
i can if you wish start a new thread?

Just tried here, enigma2-plugin-cams-mgcamd.1.35a_1.0-r3_mipsel.ipk ftp'd to /tmp/
Blue button -> ViX -> Install local extension & installed just fine.
After an E2 restart, it's showing up in Blue button -> Softcam Manager.

Try downloading it & adding it to your box again, maybe your download was corrupt?

possible, with what did you ftp with and with what browser as some dont play ball cheers.
