I think it will just get stuck again but will give it a go. I tried it twice earlier today and got the same thing.

Sorry, we both replied at the same time... didn't realise you tried using IM to download & flash.

Have a search on the forums for HP-Format Tool, use that to fix your USB stick & maybe try a USB flash again.
Sorry, I don't hae an UNO to test IM flash from.

Wahaay finally

Good Morning Judge and Everyone,

I think that worked! WAHAAAY

I still had problems getting the UNO to read from the USB - I have been at it for a couple of hours this morning. The unit would not recognise the USB - I tried several flash pens and several images - obviously not at the same time on the USB.

For some reason the last time (obviously) it started reading from the USB and HEY PRESTO!

Thank you Rob for wanting more information - I was just going to accept that the setting would have to stay on "Only HD"

Thank you Phoenix for the "putty" instructions - I was going to give up at that stage!

THANK YOU JUDGE for helping me late last night trying to resolve the reflash.

If it does not work, try, try and try again and then some more again.

I have the same issue, can't watch SD channels. Last night tried to go back to 3.0.553 but image doesn't downgrade from 3.0.773. I shall use HP tool tonight and hope it will sort it out. I have exactly same issue as Sanjhere...thanks

Hi,
I do not know if your still interested in using putty. Putty has several modes and telnet and ssh are two of them. If you select ssh THEN YOU NEED A PASSWORD an empty password does not work. So connect with telnet, enter passwd, enter your password and after that you can connect with ssh.

Hey Andy - thank you. It's been a learning curve.

Hello Trial - putty is a good and interesting program. 1st time I have used it. I had the password problem this morning, switching from telnet and SSH, I thought I had created another problem by forgetting the password I created yesterday!

Hello,

Please don't give up.

I did have to format a couple of flash pens to get the flash going.
On my uno I have to press ch- to get the unit to read from the flash. Other units I have read it's standby I think. So check what you need to do with yours.

Good luck with reflashing your unit and as you can see there is plenty of really good advice and help given here.

try as 'Sanjhere' did fresh flash NO RESTORE, start setup from scratch.

Last night I tried fresh flash with USB but no success. My box is currently on 773, I wanted to flash it with 760 but it doesn't install this image. Each time it boots up with same 773 image. I also tried image manager but it hangs on "booting99" for hours. Then I have to restart by switch at back and it reboots with same 773. I did use USB after formatting it with HP tool (fat32). Pressed - buttons on remote also other buttons but no success. Any suggestion? Thanks

At last it is sorted. Bought new USB stick and box was able to detect. Many thanks for all the help.

Dodgy flash drives and wrong file formats = frazzled brain, that's what I ended up with.

be nice if people listed their working usb types,i use integral 8gb as that flashes red internally to see something is happening.there are too many cheap non working ones that some boxes dont like

I have a drawer full of USB sticks, all makes, all sizes, all formats.
I don't think any have ever failed during a USB flash on any box & if it did (maybe once), it was down to me not extracting the image properly.
I just grab a random one & flash when needs be.

guy's my general rule is DO NOT USE sticks larger than 4gb, not all boxes support flashing with large sticks, i ALWAYS use a 1gb stick for flashing.

Hah, the only ones that have ever failed for me are less than 1gig. It just seems to be luck of the draw. I have a pool of 4 or 5 I just reuse.
