[VU+ Duo2] anoying REC flashing in mid LCD

is it possible to stop flashing the "REC" in the middle screen of the box when recording ?

Via the pluginbrowser you can download additional VFD-skins and select them via Menu --> Setup --> Display --> VFD skin.
Try and see if there's any around that suits you better.

If you have knowledge of skin editing, then change skin_display.xml at usr\share\enigma2\display. Search session.RecordState and remove Blink from the next line, i.e. make the line look like this:

Best do that by placing your own version in a separate folder, otherwise the skin will be overwritten on each update.

is this the right state of writing the line ? I removed >Blink< but then the box does not boot up anymore.
I also find a simular line in <standby> section.

You should have removed the complete widget (i.e. starting with "<widget" up to and including "/widget>"

ok.But then probably the icon REC wil not come on anymore ? I would like it to be the same but not blinking.I need to see if a recording is taking place.
I found out that in VTI that is implemented.unfortunately I find it nowehere in VIX.

Please make sure to copy your file to "/usr/share/enigma2/display/your_name" and select the skin in display skin. That way the skin won't be overwritten during an image update.

I made a backup on my HHD from my PC.I don't find where to change the settings in the image.

I called to fast victory.The REC now stays on permanently in the VFD.I have gone back to original skin_display.xml.Is there perhaps a manual for the VFD in the wix image ?

Thx Rob.As you replyed to my msg I had just figured out myself.Made backup and copied the rectified file onto the box.It worked as you discribed.No danger of doing anything wrong as it is only the display file that could give a problem.If the box doesn't boot it is still reachable by FTP.I will try to experiment more in the next days.I would like to see the sat position also in the VFD or in the LCD4 display.The tuner is present as A or B in the LCD4 but if you have many satpositions I like to see on witch sat I am.
I also try to find out (or post the question) how to get a channel number in front of the picon in the EPG list.Now I always have to switch through EPG list.On my ipbox it was easyer with the channel numbers.Also it would be easy to have a switchback channel button on the remote.Is easy when watching footbal on two different channels without having to use the PIP.
As you see I have lots to find out and learn again with this fabulous new box.Etherway a great thx for the quick replys.

On ViX 'history zap' is embedded. Using the "<"-button you get the list of recently watched services.

Where do I put the adapted skin so it is not overwriten everytime I do an update ? I now named it john_display and placed it in usr/enigma2/display but cannot select it anywhere to keep it chosen.
