Quad vs Duo2

I need to change my DM800HD to something newer. I already have GB Quad... I wanted to buy Duo2 this time, as I miss gigabit LAN on my Quad when I want to transfer files to my PC.

So Duo2 has also support for 2 DVB-S2 and 2 DVB-T as I need, it has gigabit LAN, it has transcoding, support for Pli images... BUT!!!

The price of the Duo2 in that confog is like 530 EURO and the Quad with 4 tuners is like 310 EURO...

I mean... this is a LOT of money difference... I have no issues with quad, only some of my DVB-T channels sound lags behind picture (any idea why this happens)?

Is the Duo2 really worth that money or is it just a overpriced machine? I mean, I get some extras but I almost pay double.

Maybe I should post this in Duo2 forum, but I find Vix image great, I see no need to have something else on my machine, GB lan for 200+ EURO seems a bit overpriced.

Is there any processor speed difference that Duo2 will be there for 10 years and Quad will die soon or am I missing something here? I know Duo2 is better machine, but 520 vs 320 EURO means something to my pocket also...

The Quad has the same SoC as the Solo2. The SoC of the DUO2 is much more capable (a.o. allowing for transcoding).
If that's worth the money is something only you can decide.

I changed because I fancied something different.

I wasn't expecting much difference but if I'm truthful the DUO² is faster and just "feels" better quality.

Thanx guys! DVB-T is ok on Duo2? Sound and picture is synchronised? No problem with DVB-T?

Seems that Vu+ Duo can not have 2 DVB-S2 and 2 DVB-T tuners, only one DVB-T tuner :-(

Correct: the DUO2 has two tuner slots.
You'll have to await new VU-hardware for more slots.

But the slots could be twin tuner. Seems there is twin tuner for DVB-S2 which makes it a dual DVB-S2 and there is only single DVB-T tuner available for 1 slot, there is no dual DVB-T ;-( Am I correct?

So the 2 slots could handle 4 tuners, but the problem is as the card for twin DVB-T is not available :-& For us, DVB-T works even now, when it is snowing terrible, DVB-S2 is too low signal, so...
