hi guys,

I have the vu duo box with a hitachi 500gb hardrive installed however when i try to record a program it shows Write error while recording. Disk full??

i only recieved the box couple of days ago there is nothing on it. I would like all my recordings to go onto the hadrive.

how would i fix this? please help

initialise the disk

menu>setup>system>storage devices>initialisation

hi i went on mount manager and it shows the hardrive and wihtin the box it shows:

size: unavailable
Device: /devsda1
mount: none
type: unavailable

Do you know for sure the HDD is OK?
Did the initialise process finish OK? normally you get a message saying so.
Try again ;)

OK, remove the drive and re-format it in a PC (NTFS or FAT32) and see if its actually works OK in the PC.
If it is OK then refit into your STB and re-initialise, it will most likey work then ;)

Hi, I am a newbie to all this, I have no idea what I am doing:)

Thing is I bought this box from someone with years channels everything is working but the recording

He said he will help on Saturday, so I will wait for him then if it does not work I will do your method.

Thank you for your help, can't praise enough.
