please help

Is there anything on the HDD now?
Sounds like you need to initialise it or mount it properly.

Check blue button -> ViX -> Mount Manager to see how it's reported & if it's mounted.

Menu -> Setup -> System -> Storage devices -> Initialisation to set it up from scratch.

hi,

this is what it shows in mount manager?

size: unavailable
Device: /devsda1
mount: none
type: unavailable

evertytime i try intialise i says failed, and when i try mount it shows the black screen which says system log error. and restarts box.

Can you take it out & format it in a PC first so?

how would i take it out and also i have a laptop, sorry im a newbie not a techy person

Firstly, check to make sure nothing is trying to use the HDD like PTS (Permanent Time Shift)
Secondly, have you any plugins like TSPanel installed?

I've never had a HDD that couldn't be initialised by the box, so check those first.

If all else fails, you might need to get a screwdriver out, open the box & remove the HDD.

hi,

i did not do anyhting to the box as i had bought it from someone who installed evrything and it does have ts panel installed.

Then the only way id to flash the box (and not install TS-panel any more).
TS-panel overwrites system files; that's the reason you can't get rid of it.
