[VU+ Ultimo] EPG Failing to load - Since Flashing to Helios 10

Since flashing to Helios I have been unable to successfully load any epg (rytec uk xmltv takes around 30 mins to complete - parsing for most of this time with only a small handful of channels populated at the end).

OpenTV completes within seconds but also fails to populate any channel info


Any help greatly appreciated..

Hmmm, we would need some more info then. I use both on a daily basis and I have no issues at all.
1- What is the XMLTV-importer setup?
2- What is Cross setup?
3- I hope you don't run both at the same time?
4- I hope you don't use both for the same services?

Hi, Many thanks for the prompt reply...

1- I have always set up my providers as per the guide... Current set up was to update rytec providers then I selected XMLTV providers - rytec UK XMLTV - either yellow button (download now) or red button & exit followed by blue button & crossEPG downloader have the same result of around 30mins to update with not much info populated at the end.

2- CrossEPG is scheduled to download once a day (4am)

3- I only run one service at a time - when rytec did not work I unticked & tried openTV but that completes within seconds with the same result

4- Sorry? I don't really understand... I only use one service at a time.

EPG location is /media/hdd

I have had my ultimo & running vix since august '12 and this is my first EPG problem...

ad 1: so you use Cross for XMLTV? Don't; if you want to use XMLTV use the dedicated XMLTV importer, as that on does a good job.
ad 2: if you do, make sure to set Cross and XMLTV at different times
ad 3: from the info you gave, I got the impression that you use both Open-TV and XMLTV for UK services. You shouldn't use multiple sources for one set of EPG-data.

1 - You are correct I was using Cross for XMLTV imports... I have now stopped using cross and downloaded XMLTV importer

2 - I have stopped cross altogether so no need to set at different times

3 - I only used opentv if XMLTV failed to load... I only ever had one set up at a time - not together. regarding opentv, that is all I used to use on older versions of vix but since Zeuss I failed to get opentv to load!

Just finished updating with rytec via XMLTV improter and all is good... all channels listed with full epg... Thank you :thumbsup:
